Gaming PC build GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q, Core i7-8750H 6-Core 2.2GHz, 32GB performance review

A PC gaming machine that puts together a Core i7-8750H 6-Core 2.2GHz processor, a GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q GPU and 32GB system memory will be able to play 610 games from the top 1000 recommended requirements. The PC could increase the number of games it can run at recommended requirements to 808 if it upgraded its bottleneck component, the Core i7-8750H 6-Core 2.2GHz.

Lets see how this PC performs with a popular game like Cyberpunk 2077. To summarise, we feel that with the GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q you can enjoy Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p resolution pretty comfortably. The graphics card is going to run smoother on High 1440p rather than Ultra, where it would be getting 46 FPS. But when run on 1440p High it would get 64 FPS, and at Medium 95 FPS and then on Low it would return 121 FPS. The GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q would also be good at 1080p Ultra, getting 60 FPS.

2nd most popular game: Hitman 3 - To summarise, we feel that with the GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q you can enjoy Hitman 3 at 1440p resolution pretty comfortably. The graphics card is going to run smoother on High 1440p rather than Ultra, where it would be getting 35 FPS. But when run on 1440p High it would get 49 FPS, and at Medium 73 FPS and then on Low it would return 93 FPS. The GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q would also be good at 1080p Ultra, getting 46 FPS.

3rd most popular game: Assassins Creed: Valhalla - To summarise, you may be toying with the idea that a 1440p resolution could be achieved with this GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q graphics card, but in so doing you would have to drop the graphics settings to pretty Low according to our assessment. But let the Assassins Creed: Valhalla frame rate numbers decide and guide. 1080p Medium 70 FPS, 1080p High setting: 60 FPS, 1080p Ultra setting: 41 FPS, 1440p Low setting: 62 FPS, 1440p Medium setting: 53 FPS. Our Low vs Ultra analysis tells us that you would be better placed running this at 1080p, but at least you could still tinker with graphics settings for 1440p to perhaps be passable?
