To the surprise of literally nobody, Square Enix has confirmed that development of a new Tomb Raider title is underway. Unlike previous games in the series though, Square Enix is taking a different tack with this one - there will be a very short window between the announcement of the new Tomb Raider game and its release. In short, 2018 is shaping up to be a big year for Tomb Raider.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider was conspicuous by its absence from E3 2017 last week. We’ve all seen the leaks, and everything so far has pointed towards the game being real, however, Square Enix opted to keep it under wraps during the biggest week in gaming. Now though, Square Enix has sprung another leak, this time from US-based marketing firm Takeoff Creative.
The old classic of surreptitiously glancing at a commuter’s laptop looks to have spilled the beans on the next Tomb Raider game. A redditor by the name of Tripleh280 admitted to a spot of suburban spying, revealing the next game in the series will be called Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
