Horizon: Zero Dawn swiftly proved one of Sony’s greatest success stories of the PlayStation 4 generation. Not only did it earn rave reviews, pretty much a first for Guerilla Games, but it also went on to sell more than 10 million copies.

With that in mind, a sequel seems an absolute no-brainer.

Now, Janina Gavankar, an actress who voiced Tatai in Horizon: Zero Dawn’s Frozen Wilds expansion, and is recognisable for playing the protagonist in Star Wars Battlefront 2, has effectively confirmed Horizon: Zero Dawn 2 is in development.

“It’s incredible, wait ’til you see the sequel. You’re gonna die – I know some secrets! – you’re gonna die”, said Gavankar on Twitch.

That’s probably a whole lot more than she was supposed to; someone at Sony’s likely fuming right now.

Still, it’s not exactly a shock. For reasons stated earlier Horizon: Zero Dawn was huge, and work on a sequel probably began almost as soon as Frozen Wilds was out the door. If we had to guess, Horizon: Zero Dawn 2 is probably being locked in for an early launch on the PlayStation 5, or something to that effect.
