EA’s Gamescom ‘conference’ didn’t exactly set pulses racing last night, but we did at least get some further peeks at EA’s upcoming line-up, including Need For Speed Payback and it's new and improved, deadly police AI. Ghost Games reckons the return of intense cop chases means the stakes have never been higher.”

The new and improved cop AI means they’ll be working as a unit, boxing players and adapting their behaviour based on how you play. They’ll be armed with the usual spike strips to immobilize your car, as well as the deadly Killswitch which needs to be broken through aggressive driving.

The 10 seconds from 1:02 is some of the most ear bleeding voiceover work I’ve heard in a game in a long time, here’s hoping the final game’s story doesn’t plumb those depths too often as the rest of Need For Speed Payback’s production seems to be pretty stellar.

Need For Speed Payback is racing into view on November 10th for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
