We’re less than two weeks away from Sniper Elite 4’s launch and Rebellion has a made a last minute announcement. Sniper Elite 4 will support DirectX 12 from day one in addition to DX11, as well as benefit from the additional firepower on offer in Sony’s PlayStation 4 Pro.
"We've worked really hard to make Sniper Elite 4 our biggest and best game ever," said Rebellion CTO and co-founder Chris Kingsley, "And now the power of PlayStation 4 Pro, and DirectX 12 on PC, means we can take things even further for our fans who want the best sniper experience in the world. We're turning everything up to 12!"
DirectX 12 support in most games so far hasn’t been much to write home about in truth. Rebellion has opted to include support for Microsoft’s latest graphics API but that’s still no guarantee you’re going to get faster performance on either Nvidia or AMD’s graphics cards.
PlayStation 4 Pro users meanwhile will get an array of bonus features for stumping up the cash for a console upgrade. This includes an enhanced frame rate, increased draw distances and geometry level of detail, improved lighting and shadows, increased reflection image quality, and faster loading times. And breath.
Sniper Elite 4 is out on February 14th for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
