RPG maestros Obsidian have begun teasing a mysterious game currently code-named Project Louisiana. The official Twitter account of Obsidian Entertainment tweeted out a image of a smoking pipe and a piece of wheat, along with the message “I used to dream that when my god came back, he would forgive us. That’s the trouble with dreams. Soon or later, we all have to wake up.”
The Tweet then links to Obsidian.net, where Obsidian has put the teaser image front and centre.
Obsidian has made a name for itself being a dab hand at RPGs as of late. Over the last six or so years it’s pumped out some quality titles, including Pillars of Eternity, Tyranny, South Park: The Stick of Truth, Fallout: New Vegas and the criminally underrated Alpha Protocol.
Naturally enough it’s sent Obsidian fans into overdrive, with a number of threads popping up in the forums trying to figure out what Obsidian could be working on next. The smart money is probably on Pillars of Eternity 2, but the more optimistic fans are even holding out hope for a New Vegas sequel. That seems a little unlikely but we’ve definitely seen crazier things. Me? Alpha Protocol 2. That original was my jam, even if quite patently sucked in a number of ways. It was Splinter Cell by way of Baldur’s Gate, an unmissable combo.
Hopefully we should manage to tease a little more out of Obsidian in the coming days.
In an ideal world, what would you like to see Obsidian work on next?
