Industry analyst Michael Pachter is never one to shy away from ludicrous statements he either believes are true, or says just for a reaction. Well, try this one for size. Speaking to, ahem, high brow British newspaper the Daily Star, Pachter has said "I think PC Gamers are like racists; they only like their own kind and they have no interest in venturing out and mixing with other races."
Well, that’s certainly quite a statement to make. Pachter walked himself up this dead-end alleyway while chatting about the PlayStation 4 Pro and whether Sony’s offering was enough to tempt PC gamers over to consoles.
The best thing is, it gets even worse. "PC gamers are arrogant twits who are convinced what they do is better than what anybody else can possibly do," continues Pachter, oblivious to the irony.
In conclusion he reckons the PS4 Pro is the obvious choice for anyone who doesn’t have a current-gen console yet and is thinking about getting one. He just doesn’t think that the subset of ‘twit’ PC gamers will have any interest, regardless of what Sony puts out.
All in all it’s quite abrasive language, and sure to ruffle a few feathers among PC gamers. Likening PC players to racists is a bizarre enough analogy, but to then call us “arrogant twits” is another thing entirely.
