The DOOM Closed Beta was short but sweet, and gave us an inkling into what we can expect from the full release of the multiplayer. If you wanted to get involved but were unable to sell your soul for a code, you’ll be pleased to know that the gates of Hell will reopen for all to join the carnage from April 15th to April 17th with the DOOM Open Beta.
The Open Beta will have access to the same game modes and maps as the Closed Beta did. You’ll be able to slaughter your way through Team Deathmatch and Warpath (a moving King of the Hill style game mode) and the maps of Infernal and Heatwave. Check out our gameplay video of the Closed Beta here to see for yourself.
You can preload the Open Beta as of April 12th by signing up at the official site here. I got a chance to sit down with Doom 4 Closed Beta and I thought it was pretty fun, if not a little underwhelming in places. The Glory melee kills are sometimes cool but the pacing feels a bit hit and miss from the little I had access to.
The full version of DOOM releases May 13th on both the Xbox One and PS4 as well as the PC. Pre-orders are already available and a Season Pass can also be had by parting from even more of your hard earned cash, if you’re into that sort of thing.
Any of you guys going to be playing the DOOM beta? Drop us a comment with your thoughts on the game so far and if you’ll be “Fighting Like Hell” come May.
