We thought this day would never come. The eternally-in-Early-Access Prison Architect will be launching this October. Yep, version 1.0 of Prison Architect will be gracing our hard drives, a feature complete edition of Introversion’s prison management game.

Prison Architect will be handed its belongings and booted out into society, eyes blinking against the harsh glare of the sun. The tycoon-inspired build-em-up has been available in Alpha form since September 2012, so it’s been a long old wait for gamers wanting the finished product. In that time it’s managed to shift well over a million copies.

That’s October, however, and before then there’s still a few updates to come. Next up is Alpha version 35, which launches today. This is a huge update to Prison Architect’s gangs system. This now means inmates can organise protection rackets, trade contraband, or acquire territory in order to extort the inhabitants in it.

As per usual, Introversion’s got an in-depth breakdown of this update, so you can get a feel for all the changes coming in.

If that’s not your thing, you’ve only got to wait until October to get hold of the 1.0 version of Prison Architect.
