Batman: Arkham Asylum packshot image
The game begins with Batman capturing the Joker after his latest plot, escorting him to Arkham Asylum for imprisonment. Due to Joker's recent attack on Gotham's prison, a large number of sane convicts have been transferred to Arkham. Joker, however has set a trap inside the asylum, using the its own impenetrable defenses against him. Batman must now not only try to escape from the hazards of Arkham, but also recapture the Joker and reveal his true intentions.
Gameplay places just as much focus on Batman's role as a detective as his combat prowess. Most of the game is played through an over-the-shoulder, third person perspective. It has been hinted that certain villains might be playable at some point in the game although this may be as an unlockable element after completing the game. Arkham was chosen as a location because of its limitations including the fact that it's located on an island. Arkham will be a persistent location that the player will be able to freely roam, including an area that serves as Batman's secret on-site Bat Cave.

Radeon RX 5500 XT 4GB

Low Vs Ultra Radeon RX 5500 XT 4GB Performance Review

Booting up Batman: Arkham Asylum with the 1 year old Radeon RX 5500 XT 4GB looks like it will get a very strong 200+ FPS. Those frames are achieved on Batman: Arkham Asylum when being played at 1920x1080 screen resolution and on High graphics.

At $0.39 per FPS at 4K, if we assume the GPU’s launch price. This GPU can play Batman: Arkham Asylum at a respectable 200+ frame rate on 4K Ultra.

The Radeon RX 5500 XT 4GB along with the right system memory, 2GB, is very capable of getting top FPS results even at 4K Ultra graphics settings. We would recommend 4K as the way to go here. Especially if you have a AMD Ryzen 5 2600 processor or better.

To summarise, this is an easy one, the Radeon RX 5500 XT 4GB solution can play Batman: Arkham Asylum at Ultra settings despite the desired screen resolution (up to 4K) you want to play it on. 4K Ultra gets 200+ frame rate, whereby we see 200+ frame rate for the 1440p Ultra and if you wish to look at 1080p gaming then 200+ frames per second is the type of results. Using the graphics card launch price we calculate the cost per frame to look like this for the different resolutions - 1080p Ultra costs $0.18, 1440p costs $0.23 and 4K costs $0.39.
