Batman: Arkham Asylum packshot image
The game begins with Batman capturing the Joker after his latest plot, escorting him to Arkham Asylum for imprisonment. Due to Joker's recent attack on Gotham's prison, a large number of sane convicts have been transferred to Arkham. Joker, however has set a trap inside the asylum, using the its own impenetrable defenses against him. Batman must now not only try to escape from the hazards of Arkham, but also recapture the Joker and reveal his true intentions.
Gameplay places just as much focus on Batman's role as a detective as his combat prowess. Most of the game is played through an over-the-shoulder, third person perspective. It has been hinted that certain villains might be playable at some point in the game although this may be as an unlockable element after completing the game. Arkham was chosen as a location because of its limitations including the fact that it's located on an island. Arkham will be a persistent location that the player will be able to freely roam, including an area that serves as Batman's secret on-site Bat Cave.

Batman: Arkham Asylum

Radeon RX Vega 64 Air XT 8GB

Low Vs Ultra Radeon RX Vega 64 Air XT 8GB Performance Review

The experience of playing Batman: Arkham Asylum through a 3 year old Radeon RX Vega 64 Air XT 8GB is going to return a consistently high 200+ frame rate. Those frames are achieved on Batman: Arkham Asylum when being played at 1920x1080 screen resolution and on High graphics.

Playing Batman: Arkham Asylum on Ultra 4k is certainly possible with this graphics card and we expect it will return around 200+ frames per second at that top scale resolution.

Finding a PC with this gpu or better would return some strong FPS in Batman: Arkham Asylum. We would definitely recommend running at 4K screen res and on ultra, before trying any lower screen resolution. You would also need at least 2GB of RAM. Perhaps couple this gaming PC with a processor that's as powerful as the AMD Ryzen R5 1600X and Ultra 4K would be a smooth experience.

To summarise, we are in the realms of who gives a crap, when looking at game hardware demands, because the Radeon RX Vega 64 Air XT 8GB card will play Batman: Arkham Asylum at Ultra settings almost regardless of the screen resolutions. 4K Ultra will get 200+ frame rate, 1440p can deliver 200+ FPS, and the lower resolution of 1080p comes in at 200+ frames per second. For interest the cost per frame rate would look like this - 1080p Ultra costs $0.29, 1440p costs $0.38 and 4K costs $0.64.
