Batman: Arkham Asylum packshot image
The game begins with Batman capturing the Joker after his latest plot, escorting him to Arkham Asylum for imprisonment. Due to Joker's recent attack on Gotham's prison, a large number of sane convicts have been transferred to Arkham. Joker, however has set a trap inside the asylum, using the its own impenetrable defenses against him. Batman must now not only try to escape from the hazards of Arkham, but also recapture the Joker and reveal his true intentions.
Gameplay places just as much focus on Batman's role as a detective as his combat prowess. Most of the game is played through an over-the-shoulder, third person perspective. It has been hinted that certain villains might be playable at some point in the game although this may be as an unlockable element after completing the game. Arkham was chosen as a location because of its limitations including the fact that it's located on an island. Arkham will be a persistent location that the player will be able to freely roam, including an area that serves as Batman's secret on-site Bat Cave.

Batman: Arkham Asylum

GeForce GTX 1080

Low Vs Ultra GeForce GTX 1080 Performance Review

Viewing the performance found on the 4 year old GeForce GTX 1080 while playing Batman: Arkham Asylum we quickly see it can get a very strong 200+ FPS. To get that Batman: Arkham Asylum is benched at High graphics setting and at 1080p.

But then the GeForce GTX 1080 will get a solid big screen performance at 4K, with 200+ frames per second. So we expect you are likely to consider running the game in 4K or 1440p. If you are interested, this is a cost of $1.15 per FPS, assuming we take it based on the GPU’s launch price.

This graphics card, paired with at least 2GB system memory and a suitable processor, like the Intel Core i7-6700K 4-Core 4.0GHz would be perfect to run this game at 4K Ultra.

To summarise, GeForce GTX 1080 graphics cards can smoothly run this game, but what Batman: Arkham Asylum screen resolution would you like to run with? While you can get 200+ FPS with 4K Ultra you can increase your frame rate to 200+ FPS in Ultra 1440p and up to 200+ FPS with 1080p. Pricing this on a frame per frame around the graphics cards original price it will cost $0.52 per 1080p Ultra frame. This increases to $0.68 per frame at 1440p Ultra and even more with 4K Ultra at $1.15 per frame.
