The Darkness 2 packshot image
The Darkness II breaks out of the sea of conventional first-person shooters with its fervid Quad-Wielding gameplay, which will allow players to slash, grab, and throw objects and enemies with their Demon Arms while simultaneously firing two weapons. The game is layered with the use of dark versus light, steeped in deep and twisted storytelling, and engulfed in stylistic violence that is visualized through a hand-painted graphic noir technique that stays true to its comic book origins.
It’s been two years since Jackie Estacado, now the Don of the Franchetti crime family, used The Darkness to kill the men responsible for his girlfriend’s murder. He’s been unable to shake the memory of Jenny’s death since bottling up his supernatural power, and now The Darkness wants out. A sudden, unprovoked attack on Jackie’s life heralds the start of a full-scale mob war, which has clearly been orchestrated by some outside force. The botched attempt opens the door for The Darkness to reemerge, and sets Jackie on a journey to hell and worse, as he unravels the mystery behind the attack and the motivations of The Darkness itself.

The Darkness 2

GeForce GTX 1050

Low Vs Ultra GeForce GTX 1050 Performance Review

Viewing the performance found on the 4 year old GeForce GTX 1050 while playing The Darkness 2 we quickly see it can get a very strong 200+ FPS. With that performance recorded at 1920x1080 res when running High graphics.

As this is a relatively powerful GPU, especially when comparing it to The Darkness 2 rec requirements, it would make more sense if you pushed it up to 1440p or 4K, where even at Ultra 4K graphics settings the GeForce GTX 1050 will still get a solid 80 FPS.

With a system housing a graphics card like the GeForce GTX 1050 and some 2GB RAM, we will see a strong 4K Ultra result in The Darkness 2. Look for a processor like the Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz CPU to go with this setup and Ultra is a sure thing.

To summarise, GeForce GTX 1050 graphics cards can smoothly run this game, but what The Darkness 2 screen resolution would you like to run with? While you can get 80 FPS with 4K Ultra you can increase your frame rate to 134 FPS in Ultra 1440p and up to 176 FPS with 1080p. Pricing this on a frame per frame around the graphics cards original price it will cost $0.85 per 1080p Ultra frame. This increases to $1.12 per frame at 1440p Ultra and even more with 4K Ultra at $1.88 per frame.
