Saints Row 3 packshot image
Saints Row 3, also known as Saints Row The Third, is a third-person shooter video game being developed by Volition, Inc. and to be published by THQ for the Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable systems. It is the third title in the Saints Row series, after the release of Saints Row 2 in 2008. It is currently set to be released during Q3/Q4 2011. The game was set to debut at E3 2010 but did not appear to allow developer Volition to rebuild parts of the game. Spike's Video Game Awards in December 2010 were set to include a first look at the game, but developer Volition instead showed their new game, a collaboration with Guillermo Del Toro, inSANE.

Saints Row 3

Radeon RX 550 2GB

Low Vs Ultra Radeon RX 550 2GB Performance Review

Running a Radeon RX 550 2GB to play Saints Row 3 shows us that we expect it to return a consistently high 200+ frame rate. Note that those results would be running at High and 1920x1080 screen res.

Following on from those 1920x1080 screen FPS, we know this GPU is of a much higher performance than the recommended system specs. Even 4K Ultra returns 83 FPS on Saints Row 3. But it’s still worth considering the $0.95 per Ultra 4K FPS you would get compared to the $0.56 at 1440p Ultra.

This is a powerful graphics card for Saints Row 3 and we can certainly recommend it to deliver 4K screen res at ultra settings. Get a system with at least 4GB of RAM though. The PC’s processor would also want to be around the AMD Ryzen R3 1200X’s performance to get a smooth experience.

To summarise, this game runs easily using this graphics card at all resolutions. Saints Row 3 gets 83 FPS at 4K Ultra costing $0.95 per frame. But if that doesnt feel right for you then you can drop the graphics setting down to High for 117 FPS costing $0.68 per frame. Otherwise you can get some great performance by moving down a resolution bracket to 1440p. 140 FPS in Ultra 1440p costing $0.56 per frame or 1440p High gets 196 FPS costing $0.40 per frame.
