Saints Row 3 packshot image
Saints Row 3, also known as Saints Row The Third, is a third-person shooter video game being developed by Volition, Inc. and to be published by THQ for the Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable systems. It is the third title in the Saints Row series, after the release of Saints Row 2 in 2008. It is currently set to be released during Q3/Q4 2011. The game was set to debut at E3 2010 but did not appear to allow developer Volition to rebuild parts of the game. Spike's Video Game Awards in December 2010 were set to include a first look at the game, but developer Volition instead showed their new game, a collaboration with Guillermo Del Toro, inSANE.

Saints Row 3

GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB

Low Vs Ultra GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Performance Review

Getting the Saints Row 3 running while using a GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB can see it could get a very strong 200+ FPS. Those frames are achieved on Saints Row 3 when being played at 1920x1080 screen resolution and on High graphics.

When looking at the recommended requirements for Saints Row 3 we can see that this GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB is far better served running it on Ultra even at 4K, where it would achieve 149FPS. But it could cost around $4.36 per FPS at 4K. Compare this to Ultra 1440p, which is a more reasonable $2.60 per FPS.

The GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB along with the right system memory, 4GB, is very capable of getting top FPS results even at 4K Ultra graphics settings. We would recommend 4K as the way to go here. Especially if you have a Intel Core i7-4790K 4-Core 4.0GHz processor or better.

In summary, the GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB is clearly an overpowered bit of hardware for Saints Row 3, but it certainly gives you the choice of desired in game visuals. With 1080p Ultra coming in at 200+ FPS, then you have 1440p Ultra with 200+ frames per second and on up to 4K resolution Ultra will see 149 FPS.
