DOTA 2 packshot image
A Valve backed sequel to the very popular Warcraft 3 mod, Defense of the Ancients.
Confusingly, the official remake of the mod was called Heroes of Newerth and released earlier this year after a long Beta period. Heroes of Newerth and defense of the Ancients suffer from the incredibly steep learning curve and noob slamming. Our reviewer Squee reviewed Heroes of Newerth earlier this year and had a tough time as he was new to the game.
Valve are getting into the project to try and level the playing field with their player matching server skills.

DOTA 2

Radeon RX Vega 56 8GB

Low Vs Ultra Radeon RX Vega 56 8GB Performance Review

The experience of playing DOTA 2 through a Radeon RX Vega 56 8GB is going to return a consistently high 200+ frame rate. Those frames are achieved on DOTA 2 when being played at 1920x1080 screen resolution and on High graphics.

Playing DOTA 2 on Ultra 4k is certainly possible with this graphics card and we expect it will return around 200+ frames per second at that top scale resolution.

Finding a PC with this gpu or better would return some strong FPS in DOTA 2. We would definitely recommend running at 4K screen res and on ultra, before trying any lower screen resolution. You would also need at least 4GB of RAM. Perhaps couple this gaming PC with a processor that's as powerful as the AMD Ryzen R7 1700 and Ultra 4K would be a smooth experience.

In summary, if you are looking to play DOTA 2 in Ultra then you have come with the right graphics card. The Radeon RX Vega 56 8GB can chew through the graphical performance needs of the game with relative ease. 1080p Ultra will return 200+ frames, then the larger screen resolution of 1440p can deliver 200+ FPS, with the 4K resolution seeing 200+ FPS in Ultra as well.
