I would like to upgrade this cpu, what would you recommend, would my motherboard cause any problems ?
Man, Your motherboard [MSI 970A-G45] has AM3+ Cpu Socket. So, You can get Fx 8350/Fx 9370 or better cpu with a AM3+ Cpu Socket for that motherboard. What do you mean by saying would my motherboard cause any problems?
because I often have serious fps drops in several games and I'm pretty sure it's caused by the cpu and not the gpu and I thought that it might be the mobo
Im thinking its bottleneck
This is ranked same as FX-6300?
IS this CPU good for gaming? And if it will work with a AMD RADEON HD 7770 Saphire Vapor X OC Ghz ?
That gfx is a bit slow for it. I got this cpu and it's only my gfx slowing down on things.
FX-6300 or 6350 are faster

is this cpu better than fx8120 for gaming?
You wouldnt notice much difference buddy. :)
And better is FX-4300 or FX-6300
THe FX-6300 is better i think compared to the FX-4300
well yes, their power consumption is almost same and it cost only 10-15 usd more
i see..i know had 3 choice..fx-4170,6200 or 8120..that the only cpu that had sell in my place and also within my budget..so which one are better?
If its for gaming, go for either the fx 6200 or the fx 8120 :) There won't be much of a difference.
Agreed, just choose the one that's cheaper :D
Thanks for agreeing TeroMarsu :)
ok guys..if got 6300/4300 at my place surely i got one of that..for now 6200
6200 @ 3.8ghz is great for gaming and with a 6970 2gb is great i would of gone the 8 core fx series but when i looked at the benchmarks between the 6200 and the 8150 at the time they wasnt much difference though at that time windows 7 didnt support 8 cores as the update didnt come out yet but ive noticed saints row 3 works like a charm now and with my new ram i want to check out shogun 2 hopefully i get it playable if not ill go and buy a grapphics card when 4 gig is the standard but that will be a while as 3 gig is a standard in the high end cards :P
is a GTX 660 a good pairing with this cpu?
Sure yeah ;)
YES FRI :)
It will be a match made in heaven :D xD
What GPU, around 200$, should I buy for this processor?
I suggest buy the AMD Radeon HD 7850 or maybe a few bucks higher buy the HD 7870.
but if you're on a tight budget then I suggest buy the AMD Radeon HD 6870 or HD 6950 they both work perfectly fine. :)
Yea. I can testify ;)
If I get the 6100, I can get a better GFX (nVIDIA GeForce GTX660 TI 2GB) or I can get this and have the AMD Radeon HD 6870 1GB. What should I do?
6100 AND 660ti definitely
get this one and have the AMD Radeon HD 6870, the Vision program of AMD will definitely come up to a smooth in High Definition videos.
The only difference between the 6100 and 6200 is 0.5 GHz of clock speed, but the difference between 660ti and 6870 is huge
Go with the 6100 and get the gtx 660ti buddy, it will be a better pair up for you to play games with :)
i love this cpu it runs all mygames before i was using the phemon 2 1100 t and saints row 3 lagged but with this cpu its so smooth and ill have enough money saved when the 8970 comes out ill be upgrading feom a faulty soc gigabtye 6970 i should of read up on thiss card as i now dont rruat gigabtye products :p
can i have this cpu on my motherboard m4n68t le v2?
Nope, This processor only supports AM3+ socket. m4n68t le v2 only supports AM3, so you can't put this processor in to your motherboard :(
i dont know a lot about computers, can you tell me some cpu's with a am3 socket that are good for gaming?
