Core i3-3240 3.4GHz is a middle-class CPU based on the 22nm, Ivy Bridge architecture.
It offers 2 Physical Cores (4 Logical), clocked at 3.4GHz and 3MB of L3 Cache.
Among its many features, Turbo Boost and HyperThreading are activated.
The processor integrates relatively weak Graphics called Intel HD Graphics 2500, with 6 Execution Units, initially clocked at 650MHz and that go up to 1050MHz, in Turbo Mode which share the L2 Cache and system RAM with the processor.
Both the processor and integrated graphics have a rated board TDP of 55W.
It is a powerful processor whose performance is good. It's thus capable of running most applications smoothly without any problem.

Can this cpu handle a gtx 770?
I wouldn't pair it with anything more powerful than a GTX 760 if you're looking at keeping things balanced.
I thought so, thx, 270x , r9 280, and gtx 760 this are the highest gpu right
Yes, any of them will work well. But unless you're planning on upgrading to a 1080p monitor, an R9 270 or 270x will run everything on ultra just fine.
ok ,thx mate, i have 2 monitors 1 at 1050p and 1 at 1080p , hehe , but i don t have a good gpu, pff
If you get a GPU that can perform well at 4K then 2 Roughly 1080p monitors should be no problem for it.
Would this be worth the upgrade from my current cpu or should I look for something else?
I would recommend something more powerful, however upgrading to this should be fine.
Okay thanks :)
Hey guys, would a GTX 750 Ti be fine with this?
yes it does ! and you will get about 40 fps in most new games (high set)
ahh, ok thanks man. I think I should upgrade my ram to 8GB first.
will this cpu run well with Radeon R9 270X Sapphire Dual-X 2GB OC Edition ?
I think you'll bottleneck it the GPU a bit so I'd suggest you to get an i5
pain in a ass bottleneck or a little bit ?
no bottleneck
Would this processor run well with a Radeon 7770?
there is no reason that it wouldnt, so yes
This or Athlon 760K?Also consider that 760K is very overclockable
better this intel.
why this dual core cpu has a better peformance than mine?or most of quad cores?
because if you are goin gto run an application that it needs a 4 core proccesor the intel core i3 will be able to run it .
newer cpu, faster , Turbo Boost and HyperThreading
Cna this cpu run a game that requires a quad core ??
I think those games should work because there are 2 threads
Would this processor run well with a Radeon 7950? (This is for a different computer; not mine)
Sorry my friend, but it's going to bottleneck the Radeon HD 7950 since it is a powerful card that the processor might not be able preform well.
I disagree, the in most benchmarks, the cpu makes a marginal difference, it will run, but you may want to upgrade to say; a core i5 or core i7 later.
Hi guys, just wondering if i should get this CPU instead of i3 322- 3.3Ghz i only see a diferense in the GHz which on the 3220 are 3.3GHz and on the 3240 are 3.4GHz so tell me which one is better :)
