at least core 2 duo E8500/E8600 (that's if your budget is low) or equivalent for your socket is amd phenom 9500 quad cores, that's the minimum for your GPU, i think that's the best cpu-s for your motherboard, but i would advise to change the motherboard, i dont really like amd sockets. good luck

Hallo to all!!!
I have a question about my CPU…
Is this CPU enough for new games like(Far cry 3, Battlefield 3, AC:3 etc… ) or not?? I would appreciate your answers and reactions, because i am thinking about buying new GPU and i really do not know if should buy new GPU or it is pointless purchase, because of my slow CPU.
Thank you for some advice :-) ( and i am sorry about my fuc* bad english :D

my sons computer currently has a Core 2 Duo E6600 /Geforce 9500GT 1GB GDDR3 and it runs Far cry 3 (DX 9) at a fair frame rate….. so i would imagine an Athlon 64 x2 be measurable twards it…

Some CPU-bound games and FPS will tax your CPU in some cases. Upgrading to a reasonable GPU would potentially cause it to be bottlenecked by your CPU, although I would not say it's downright pointless, as you would take advantage of the graphic power on your Full HD monitor. A CPU upgrade as well could come in handy with handling modern titles and be more balanced with a better GPU, but you may upgrade to any hardware component as you will :D

I am afraid about cpu socket in motherboard " Gigabyte - GA-M56S-S3"… It is containing socket AM2 and i do not have many CPUs that can improve my performance… Anyway i think it will be better if i buy a new GPU. Unfortunatelly there comes up a new question…. Which GPU could be suitable for new new games as (far cry 3 , AC3 etc..) and makes sense with this CPU ? I am thinking about some Radeon 7770 or something like that..

Well Gigabyte claims your AM2/AM2+ socketed Mobo supports Phenom II x4 and even up to Phenom II x6 processors
Take in consideration your PSU capabilities, do you know the model? HD7770 it's a good GPU even for 1920x1080 :D might not push to maximum/ultra on some demanding games but it sure performs nicely

If i buy Phenom x4 or X6 processor i will have to update my bios to F6H version … It makes me little bit worried because i have never done anything like updating bios.. Otherway i have "Logic 500W psu" and i hope it is enough for 7770HD.. By the way i am thinking about changing Memory modules also.. Do you think could be there any improve performance if i bought 800Mhz 4gb modules ?? .. I have got 4gb 400Mhz now.

HD 7770 is a good choice, will perform nicely even on 1920x1080, but might not reach ultra/max in some demanding games, and still would slightly bottleneck your Athlon
You would see some difference, and it's already necessary to have a decent ammount of RAM and good frequency. In the other hand, it's likely your RAM runs at 400Mhz clock hence 800 MT/s. Got a CPU-Z screenshot?

I don't think so. This was made in 2006, after 2005's socket 939. This is socket AM2. IDK if it is backwards compatible, but seriously, for gaming, this is WAYY too old. But no, the Motherboard will not sustain it. The older Athlon X2s will fit. Not the 6000+. And I think the motherboard is discontinued :P

because both of my computers are amd proccesors and ati GPU ten i check computer drivers and such on my old computer to see if the new drivers gives better perfomance then the old version and also i check overdrive overclocking and such on it… and by now it realy nice becaus i did screw up that compter many times and my good computer stays just perfect,i also download everything to it then install it on it and after that im moving the movies or the game into an external disk and plug it into the strong computer so my computer stays clean of rubbish.

its super effective XP
