Core i7-2600 4-Core 3.40GHz Game Requirement Analysis

Core i7-2600 4-Core 3.40GHz is a high-end CPU based on the 32nm, Sandy Bridge architecture.

It offers 4 Physical Cores (8 Logical), initially clocked at 3.4GHz, which may go up to 3.8GHz and 8MB of L3 Cache.
Among its many features, HyperThreading, Turbo Boost and Virtualization are activated.

The processor integrates weak Graphics called Intel HD i7 2600 (variant of Intel HD Graphics 2000), with 6 Execution Units, initially clocked at 850MHz and that go up to 1350MHz, in Turbo Mode which share the L2 Cache and system RAM with the processor.
Both the processor and integrated graphics have a rated board TDP of 95W.

Compared to Core i7-2600K there's no performance difference. Its performance is exceptionally good and enough for even the most demanding applications.

Nope it wouldn't. I'm running the i7 2600 processor with a 1080 playing at 1080p and don't really experience any bottlenecking. It played Metro Exodus fully maxed at a pretty much consistent 60 fps.

lol mate, upgrade for sure. I've bought this processor in 2011 and it's still doing more than amazing on windows 7. I am not sure if it's gonna have problems with win 10, but it's a beast on 7.

Turbo boost is a bios option and should be enabled to on/auto by default. To my knowledge it will only boost a single core to 3.8 not all 4 physical processors.

This would be slightly better, but not worth the motherboard swap, and a mild overclock would put the 8350 ahead. I pulled my 8300 up to par with this. That said with ryzen around the corner the AM3+ CPUs should be getting cheaper, 8370?
