Pentium Dual Core E5700 3GHz Game Requirement Analysis

The Pentium Dual-Core brand was used for mainstream x86-architecture microprocessors from Intel from 2006 to 2009 when it was renamed to Pentium. The processors are based on either the 32-bit Yonah or (with quite different microarchitectures) 64-bit Merom-2M, Allendale, and Wolfdale-3M core, targeted at mobile or desktop computers. In terms of features, price and performance at a given clock frequency, Pentium Dual-Core processors were positioned above Celeron but below Core and Core 2 microprocessors in Intel's product range. The Pentium Dual-Core was also a very popular choice for overclocking, as it can deliver optimal performance (when overclocked) at a low price.

i would google your motherboard and look at what its max speed for ram is for example it could only support 1066 1333 or 1600 so i would check to see speed of your ram and whats supported on your mobo good luck

you shouldn't oc this cpu cuz overclocking this would be pointless since it is a dual core, most games now require a min of quad core i suggest to get an upgrade !

Why get a dual core when the old Phenom II x4 like 955be or 965be are usually dirt cheap and much better.
But I think this would bottleneck a 7770.

Hey guise. Judging by the reported BF3 benchmarks w/ specs similar to mine, I'm doing something wrong.
Either the data was inaccurately entered, or my (Operation Metro) -30fps low settings @ 720p is the result of.. something mysterious..? Help? :(

I hope. I will buy a GTX 650 Ti Boost OC next week and install on my system. I have a E5700 OC'd and I will tell you if it will work with this CPU. Anyway, it will works, but maybe with a bottleneck in new games.. I will upgrade CPU and MB in future.

Yeah, There is a bottleneck, a big one. I Recommend a new Cpu.
Intel Option: Intel Core i5 3570k
Amd Option: AMD FX 6350 or 6300
You don't have to chose these, Just look around and see whats best with Price, and Performance.

if you want to stick with LGA775 then u might want to go for Quad Core . like Q8400 or Q9400 :)

You might want to check the date of the post. I don't know if it's going to help him almost 2 years later. Especially because I don't think he is around here anymore.
