also, this i5 is only dual-core and not quad-core, so yours, supporting hyperthreading, being of newer architecture, and having a decent turbo boost(not so sure about the last) is better

its very true.. you can see that by the noumber of socket tpes they got..

the 1366, 1156, 1155, 775  etc

and its all just to get more money ,

unlike amd which sells there high end proccesors at the same price as intel lowest end proccesor and even there best and new Bulldozer series that will come out this year can use a socket that is almost 6 years old(the am2+ socket which can be used on a am3 CPUs) and thats just user friendly
