Pentium Dual Core E5400 2.7GHz Game Requirement Analysis

The Pentium Dual-Core brand was used for mainstream x86-architecture microprocessors from Intel from 2006 to 2009 when it was renamed to Pentium. The processors are based on either the 32-bit Yonah or (with quite different microarchitectures) 64-bit Merom-2M, Allendale, and Wolfdale-3M core, targeted at mobile or desktop computers. In terms of features, price and performance at a given clock frequency, Pentium Dual-Core processors were positioned above Celeron but below Core and Core 2 microprocessors in Intel's product range. The Pentium Dual-Core was also a very popular choice for overclocking, as it can deliver optimal performance (when overclocked) at a low price.

I have a similar motherboard (G41 Chipset, DDR3 etc…) and in Advanced Options on Bios it shows me the option JumperFree to OC!
But beware, our chipsets are not meant to be OC'ed, my mobo can only can do 15% OC in pre-configured settings on bios, cause if I try to do it myself, It wont let me do it sadly…
Hope I helped! Cheers

I had this CPU on my 2008 main PC, and it was awesome. Could overclock it from 2.7 to 3.6GHz without massive heat increase and stability issues.

The best GPU which can be paired with a Pentium Dual-Core E5xx/E6xx without bottleneck, is the MSI GeForce GT 730 1GB GDDR5 OC :)

Oh! My previous processor. It was something very special to me. Played a lot of games with it. At the time i had it, I did not know about overclocking that much. But I heard that it was an awesome overclocker. Miss you CPU buddy :D

Can I just say that no its not a quad core…no its not an i3 or an i5 or an i7. But for a midrange Dual Core this CPU kicks BUTT! I love it for heavy multitasking and gaming…running WaW with everything but dual GFX on YES on my rig with this CPU! highly recommended for a Pentium!!
