The Core i5-7400 4-Core 3.0GHz is a high-end CPU based on Intel's 7th Gen 14nm, Kaby Lake microarchitecture. It offers 4 physical cores (4 logical), initially clocked at 3.0GHz, which may go up to 3.5GHz using Turbo Boost.
It doesn't have an unlocked multiplier therefore it can't be overclocked using traditional methods.
It has 6MB of L3 Cache. Level 3 cache is a static memory bank of a processor and it is used to feed it instructions. This processor also supports DDR4 based RAMs with maximum memory support of 64GB.
It has a maximum Thermal Power Design of 65W. It is on par with competitor processors.
Among its many features, Intel Enhanced Speedstep, Turbo Boost 2.0 and Virtualization are activated.
It integrates Intel HD Graphics 630 on board. It has a base frequency of 350MHz which can go up to 1GHz as well as offering DirectX 12 support.
This CPU is likely to offer excellent computational performance and will not be the bottleneck in any modern gaming PC.

Does the website not support I5-7400 anymore? I don't see the option to choose it when seeing if your rig can run a game.
Good upgrade from g4560?
Yes! But I'd get the 7500 for the higher clock speeds, it's worth it and will benefit in the long run.
this cpu is goood i got realy no problems my computer is fast and i play games no freezing
this cpu to a 1070ti is it good?
For 1080p 60 Hz, overkill
For 1440p 60 Hz, perfect match
For 1080p+ 120 Hz +, not so much, better look into a more powerful one (R5 1600 would suffice for relatively the same budget)
I cant find Intel HD Graphics 630 (GPU), not mobile, integrated on motherboard. System requirements data base has only intel 630 mobile GPU. Can you put it in data base, please?
Should i upgrade to this or the 7500 if this one is 30 usd cheaper in my country?
Will this one bottleneck gtx 1060?
no its perfectly fine with gtx 1060
Planning on upgrading to this. I probably will get it in a long time from now though.
i5-7400 or R5 1400, help me choose?
R5 1400
if youre only gaming, choose the I5 7400, if youre doing content creation and streaming and so forth, go with the r5 1400
Performance-wise, it is a good upgrade if you are still using i5 2XXX cpu, any other more recent i5 gen will get you roughly the same performance (or even better)
We have the same procie, I think I don't have to upgrade to this cpu lol.
If you plan to stay on a 1080p / 60 Hz monitor, no point whatsoever to change the CPU, probably in the next 3 years+. Now, for 120+ Hz, it will definitely bottleneck (it won't matter what expensive / powerful GPU you got)
Nah I'm good with 60 Hz monitor. If I'm applying to be a pilot I will try larger fps monitor HAHAHA.
Update the line-up please. It is released now.
