Core i7-6700 4-Core 3.4GHz is a High-End Processor based on the 14nm, Skylake MicroArchitecture.
It offers 4 Physical Cores (8 Logical), initially clocked at 3.4GHz, which may go up to 4.0GHz and 8MB of L3 Cache.
Among its many features, HyperThreading, Turbo Boost 2.0 and Virtualization are activated.
The processor integrates powerful Graphics called Intel HD i7 6700K, with 24 Execution Units, initially clocked at 350MHz and that go up to 1150MHz, in Turbo Mode which share the L2 Cache and system RAM with the processor.
Both the processor and integrated graphics have a rated board TDP of 65W.
Its performance is exceptionally good and enough for even the most demanding applications.

Will this bottleneck the GTX 1050
No it won't.
no even a gtx 980ti will not
I thought the max amount of supported RAM was 64GB, not 32GB. At least that's what I'm seeing on Intel's homepage.
So of course in need an upgrade for my cpu.. should I get this or the 6700k.. Thanks!
Corei7 6700
this, that way you don't have to change the motherboard, pretty pointless if you aren't going to overclock it
I'm about to upgrade to this CPU from i5-6400.
Say, can this CPU run any game today at maxed out setting? (let say the GPU is 1080)
Is it futureproof for like 5 years?
5 years look pretty good and realistic to me. Possible.
But do u think i5-6600K is better? It's way cheaper here in my country (100$ gap), plus I only use my PC for gaming. No rendering, coding, emulator-ing, etc
In that case go for 6600k mate. For gaming only scenario an i5-6600k would be a nice choice.
yes it is 5 year future proof if coupled gtx 1080.
Hay i am looking to upgrade to this cpu will this cpu be able to run most things on integrated build in graphics…
Most? Yes ofcourse
Thanks jeffro because i will only be able to buy a graphics card later and i need something that can carry me until i can buy a graphics card
some games easily but you should buy a good gpu like gtx 980 for it
Which is more powerful, this or fully overclocked i5 6600K?
depends on how far you overclock. the 6600k is about 20-30% worse in multithreaded workloads. if you can overclock it far enough then i guess it's better to get an i5.
In which process multithreaded workloads are used? I'll be only gaming by the way and thinking of getting a GTX 1070.
Yeah, I'm debating getting the 6700 instead of the 6600K but if it won't make a huge gaming difference then I don't want to spend an extra 50 bucks
i7 6700 is way cheaper actually. H170/B150 mobo + 2133Mhz RAM + i7 6700 is cheaper than i5 6600k + Z170 mobo + 2400Mhz RAM + extra CPU cooler. Apx. 60-70 bucks
i think you should buy 6700k which is more future proof
this offcourse!! it can run with8 threads at 14nm up to 4ghz and 8mb l2 cache memory.
