It's not bad. Though you'll probably start being too long in tooth in a year or two. But then Zen2 will be out and have a good range of mid-tier stuff out.

NOOO, you can't put a FX-9370 with 550W PSU, and a bad one too?! You could burn your PC, VS Series are really bad, butthey are cheap, and you get what you pay for, I'd say wait for Zen and upgrade your PSU first.

8370 doesn't make a big difference, too expensive for less improvement.

If you are on a budget or don't want to change your motherboard, yes. I'm considering the same. If you are willing to wait and save up some more money, get an AMD Zen CPU when they come out.

For either one, make sure your motherboard can handle it, and you have the right socket!

From the looks of it, the 970A-G43 can only support a CPU with a wattage of 95 or below. The FX-8370 is 125W and therefore should not be used in your motherboard.

In that case, I would wait until AMD releases their Zen CPUs and upgrade both your motherboard and CPU at the same time. Or if you want, there's Intel.

No you cant put this CPU on your motherboard, because they use different sockets. Your CPU uses a FM2 socket, while the FX 8370 uses a AM3+ socket.

Yes, it's worth upgrading. I don't know why Maester said you also need a GPU upgrade as well.

I would honestly wait for a year, because next year will see the arrival of AMD's Zen and hopefully Skylake-E processors, which is what i'm saving up for. right now, the best bang for the buck upgrade for you is a gpu upgrade. something like an r9 280-380, or a gtx 960 are good gpus for around $200, but ive got a GTX 970 that i love, and i think itll hold me steady until the next gen of GPUs come out. if yo uare lucky you can find used or refurbished 970 for $260-300 Hope that this helps.
