APU A8-6600K Quad-Core is a performance CPU based on the 32nm, Piledriver architecture.
It offers 4 Physical Cores (4 Logical), initially clocked at 3.9GHz, which may go up to 4.2GHz and 4MB of L2 Cache.
Among its many features, Turbo Core and Virtualization are activated and the processor has the clock multiplier unlocked, meaning it can be overclocked easily.
The processor integrates mildly powerful Graphics called Radeon HD 8570D, with 256 Shader Processing Units, clocked at 844MHz, which share the L2 Cache and system RAM with the processor.
Both the processor and integrated graphics have a rated board TDP of 100W.
It is a powerful Quad Core whose performance is good. It's thus capable of running most applications smoothly without any problem.

Hmm , buying a 80E cpu that could run pretty much anything sounds good to me , BUT if you got in plan buying a whole new pc (other than fm2 socket) you should consider waiting for RYZEN (for amd fans) or just get a FX with AM3+ socket .
my friend had an A8 6600K and i still had my 955 Black like i do now and in alot of CPU intensive test my 955 Black actually performed better. i suppose the fact that my CPU actually has L3 cache whereas the A8 just doesn't.
if you are thinking of buying an A8 6600K just buy an AM3/AM3+ motherboard and a Phenom II X4 or X6 processor because they allow for a much much better upgrade path
Compared to other APU's, there are hardly any notable difference against other models of APUs. Against A8-7670k & A10-7850k, performance is no more than 10% better making this APU a GREAT choice in terms of Price VS Performance.
This or mine :P ?
The i5 is way better, so stay with it. Maybe wait til AMD Zen comes up and then you can upgrade to something better.
I have one of these paired with gtx 750ti i can play most games on high settings but with fifa 15 i get micro lag
Best GPU Match?
Mine runs very hot during graphically high games, nearly 100C at times.
holy crap thats hot you rly need to get a aftermarket cooler or your cpu could die really quickly
Those temps are not correct; do not take for granted what some apps say about your a8 6600k's temp because it has a compatibility problem with it's sensor.Check CPU temp in whatever software and restart pc in bios(UEFI) and there you'll see the difference and real CPU temp.Even so, i suggest you to buy an aftermarket cooler like Bonedancer1 said because games are becoming more demanding->more heat
the problem is the (real temps) are being marked as Motherboard temps, like when im using HWiNFO64 its on my motherboard section as (T1), or with my performance monitor its marked as (Mainboard).
Hi guys, I'm getting rid of my laptop. (M17x r4, gtx 880m, i73940xm) and getting a desktop with this processor but also a gtx 970. Will this processor be OK? Thanks
uh i think that i7 you had in your laptop was better then what you have now the only upgrade you got was your gpu
seems to run a bit hot
my APU is 1 month old and it runs like 55-c (socket 60-63c) games like GTA IV , Saints Row 3 , Payday 2
this sopose to be normal?
factory settings no OC , stock cooler
i think it's pretty nornal, mine too
its very very normal
no need to worry
If you are looking into playing more modern games like Battlefield, GTA 5 etc. I can't recommend any FM2 CPU. Instead, choose a different socket processor that packs a bit more power.
i hope that GTA 5 at least will be playable for me :(
