How well can the GeForce GTX 770 run games
28 Nov 2019 - Graphics card reviewed

This graphics card offers upper mid level gaming performance. The GeForce GTX 770 GPU could struggle if it was to try and run the most demanding games available today, but it meets a lot of game system requirements found in today’s games. DirectX 12 gaming system requirements will be met by this gpu.

Here is a performance review on how capable the GeForce GTX 770 is at running the more popular games of 2019. Specifically looking at this PC hardware’s ability to get suitable frames per second to play on Ultra game settings and what FPS it might get on 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen res. In comparison to the game recommended requirements of the 1000 most demanding games played today this PC hardware can run 300.

A GeForce GTX 770 card at 1080p is predicted to see a weak frame rate when running Microsoft Flight Simulator on Ultra - 1 FPS. Lets look at the performance its getting on eFootball PES 2020 which is 50 FPS. To add a bit more variety lets see how the popular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare performs on this hardware, which gets a weak 18 FPS.

One of the growing popular screen resolutions for PC gaming is the wider 1440p. So we wanted to see how well the GeForce GTX 770 performed at 1440p by taking a look at some of the current popular games. First we looked at Microsoft Flight Simulator and predict it will deliver weak frames per second across the following graphics settings - Low: 1 FPS, Medium: 1 FPS, High: 1 FPS and Ultra: 0 FPS. We then checked the performance on eFootball PES 2020 to see if that runs well. It was playable with a 38 FPS at Ultra 1440p. Running games at 1440p with a GeForce GTX 770 is going to struggle to keep a solid FPS, but a modern game could have a few options tweaked to get it playable at this res but on low graphics settings.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 770 graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 770 in your PC? This GeForce GTX 770 card has 12 to 18 months of latest AAA game play left in it before upgrading should be considered

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 770? Upgrading this graphics card would have us consider the 16 Series GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB which is 94% more powerful. This upgrade choice can also run 896 games from the most demanding games today. Alternatively a good choice when looking to upgrade the GeForce GTX 770 would be the RX 5000 Series Radeon RX 5500 4GB which meets 767 of the 1000 top game’s recommended system requirements and has 52% better performance.

if you have the money you should obviously get the 770, but the rest of them are solid cards too
the 750ti isn't that good for 1080p though, would suggest avoiding that

would also suggest looking at the r9 290 cause that's a BEAST card at about the price of the 770

I got the gtx 960, it's very very powerfull, I though it will suck but it has great performance, it performs better than the gtx 760, and has almost the same results like the gtx 770, (I have other gpu's 750-760-770 and 650-660 and now 960)

it will work perfect with the i5 4670k and 8 gb ram, and yes this gpu handles nvidia settings on far cry 4(better than ultra) and it has DX 12 so it's perfect BUT you should save a little and get the gtx 970 in my opinion

Score above is wrong as it shows 9.2 for 1920x1080 and 10 for both 2560x1440 and 3840x2160 on 27 October 2014. How could score be less[9.2] for 1920x1080 and more[10] for 2560x1440 and 3840x2160?

I think 8.5 score for 1080p and above resolution is a mistake…
1. Its little stronger then 680
2. 680 has 9.5
So it should be around 9.6 or 9.7 at least for 1080p and higher resolution maybe 8.5 i guess…

Hi everyone, I have a few questions: is this GPU compatible with all my other hardware and would it fit inside my case? Also, does it need any extra cooling or are the built-in fans enough? I just know that my PSU definitely won't be good enough for this card, but I have a better one ready for when I choose to upgrade.

Thanks and I hope you have fun with the card! :) But do you know if my case is good for it and if I'll need any extra cooling for this GPU? I don't actually know what my PSU is as I haven't opened up this PC yet, but since this rig is pre-built the PSU is probably barely enough to keep things safe. It's ok though, since I have a better PSU (600W) in the house ready for when I buy a new card.

most important thing about a psu it's not really the wattage, some shi*ty psu say 600w but in fact they are 350 or 400 w. most important thing is the brand! and another important thing: the Ampere on the 12 volt. thi card require 35 ampere on the 12 v (better 40 ampere). 600 watt are enough, but only if you have a good psu! 2 weeks ago i got the Cooler master B-600, a good psu, take a look at it ;)

Thank you for the info. I checked that PSU of mine and I'm 99% sure it's a Thermaltake TR-600P (http://www.game-debate.com/psu/index.php?ps_id=1044&psu=Thermaltake%20TR-600P) + (http://hardwareinsights.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Label1.jpg). I think it's single rail and has 50A on +12V. That should be good enough, right?

As far as I know, the 770 handles practically anything you throw at it in 1080p, maxed out with good fps. It should handle plenty things at 1440p as well, but not maxed out. So it's a brilliant card, but I'm not sure if it's worth upgrading from 750 Ti in terms of how much value you get for the upgrade. I guess it depends on what you're looking for, though I'd personally go for it if I were you.

Yes, the basic one, but there are some more expensive and powerful versions of it with 4 GB.

No, I mean the reference model on this page was listed as 3 GB VRAM before it was recently changed to 2.
