How well can the GeForce GTX 660 Ti run games
28 Nov 2019 - Graphics card reviewed

Getting one of these GeForce GTX 660 Ti graphics cards allows the gamer to run indie system requirements and some less demanding AAA titles. In today’s PC hardware terms these are considered middle range for gaming performance. DirectX 11 gaming system requirements will be met by this gpu.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 660 Ti graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 660 Ti in your PC? We think this GeForce GTX 660 Ti has around 6-12 months until an upgrade should be considered.

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 660 Ti? Are you looking to upgrade a GeForce GTX 660 Ti? Then we would suggest getting a 16 Series GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB, as it can run 897 of the top 1000 demanding game requirements today with 152% increased graphics performance. Alternatively a good upgrade choice for this graphics card today would be the RX 5000 Series Radeon RX 5500 4GB. For comparison of the 1000 most demanding games around today this suggested upgrade is 85% better and can meet 668 of their recommended requirements.

GeForce GTX 660 Ti Game Requirement Analysis

Overview
GeForce GTX 660 Ti is a Performance Graphics Card based on the Kepler Architecture.

Architecture
The Kepler Architecture was NVIDIA's big step to power efficiency. Each Stream Multiprocessor (SMX) now hosts 192 Shader Processing Units - against the 48 of older Fermi Architecture, and has been redesigned being now clocked at the same speed of the Central Unit. This means they are more energy efficient and will consequently lead to cooler operating temperatures. However, it also means they are weaker. It can be said that one Fermi SMX is as fast as 2 Kepler SMXs.
Additionally, and not available in all GPUs, Kepler also introduced the Boost Clock Feature. The Boost Clock is an even higher Clock Speed activated when in gaming mode and becomes the effective speed of the GPU.
GPU
It equips a GPU GK104-300-KD-A2 which has 7 Stream Multiprocessors activated and thus offers 1344 Shader Processing Units, 112 TMUs and 24 ROPs. The Central Unit is initially clocked at 915MHz and goes up to 980MHz, in Turbo Mode.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 2GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 192-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is adequate. The Memory Clock Operates at 1502MHz.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 150W, it requires at least a 450W PSU with two available 6-pin connectors.

Performance
At 1920x1080, the best suited resolution for GeForce GTX 660 Ti, benchmarks indicate its performance is a little over the older GeForce GTX 580.

System Suggestions
GeForce GTX 660 Ti is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1920x1080. We recommend a Strong Processor and 8GB of RAM for Optimal Performance.

I wouldn't say you need to updgrade to this GPU. I would save some more money to get something better (GTX 770 etc.) (Also if you have no problem with your current card why updgrade? ;))

Just randomly thinking about upgrading. :D asking myself how futureproof my card is since 2gb is getting 'old' .. but i can still run games on high settings so i still have no need to upgrade anything.

Don't worry about the 2GB, Any game won't need more than 2GB if your res is lower than 1200p :)

Gtx 660 has graphic processor GK106 and Gtx 660 Ti has GK104 just like Gtx 670,680,760,770
Gtx 660 has 80 TMUs and Gtx 660 Ti has 112 TMUs
Gtx 660 has 960 CUDA cores and Gtx 660 ti has 1344 CUDA cores.
So main differnence is graphic processor Gtx 660 is middle class GPU and GTX 660 Ti is High End GPU

It would a little bit in CPU intensive games, but otherwise it would be fine for games that depend more on the GPU
