How well can the GeForce GTX 675M run games
14 Nov 2019 - Graphics card reviewed

A mid to low level graphics card, the GeForce GTX 675M is found in budget machines nowadays, struggling to meet AAA system requirements. All games with system requirements of DirectX 11 or lower are met by this card.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 675M graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 675M in your PC? Its upgrade time for the GeForce GTX 675M, assuming you are a modern day gamer.

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 675M? A great upgrade graphics card would be a 20 Series GeForce RTX 2070 Mobile, which has 374% better performance and can run 982 of the top 1000 demanding game requirements today. Alternatively if you are thinking of upgrading this graphics card then we would currently suggest the RX 5000 Series Radeon RX 5500M 8GB. This PC hardware upgrade performs 195% better and can run 606 of today’s 1000 most demanding PC games.

GeForce GTX 675M Game Requirement Analysis

Overview
GeForce GTX 675M is a High-End Mobile Graphics Card based on the second revision of the Fermi Architecture.

Architecture
The Fermi Architecture was first manufactured with a 40nm technology and uses a technique known as Hot Clocking: The Shaders are clocked twice as fast as the Central Unit. While this leads to a reasonable performance boost, it causes enormous amounts of energy dissipation, leading, ultimately, to a significantly higher operating temperature.
Fermi is also the first GPU architecture with fully cached memory access which increases memory performance.

GPU
It equips a GPU Codenamed GF114 which has 8 Stream Multiprocessors activated and thus offers 384 Shader Processing Units, 64 TMUs and 32 ROPs. The Central Unit is clocked at 620MHz.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 2GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 256-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is adequate. The Memory Clock Operates at 750MHz.

Features
DirectX 11.0 Support (11.0 Hardware Default) and support for SLI, Optimus, 3D Vision Surround, PhysX, Realtime Raytracing and other technologies

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 100W, it is only suited for very large laptops.

Performance
GeForce GTX 675M is a direct rebrand of GeForce GTX 580M.
Gaming benchmarks put its performance identical to a desktop GeForce GTX 560.

System Suggestions
We recommend a fast processor (Intel Core i7 Mobile) and 8GB of RAM for a system with GeForce GTX 675M.

My driver version for this card is 295.62. Should I be updating my drivers to the latest WHQL certified drivers by NVIDIA or stay with my current driver version of 295.62?

what a joke this card is… no real point. I hope nvidia would come up with gtx 680m with kepler, 4gb, dx 11.1 and other basic stuff that would beat the sh*t out of the 675m

unfortunately when you order you rig from companies like Dell, sometimes you're limited to what you can get. sure you think it's a joke card, but compared to other older cards, I'd take this any day. and yes, when the 680m comes out, my order's going in for a new m17x :)

You're right in saying that. DELL has been a big let down and not just in recent years.

your right, when i first got my laptop, i had to manually install my drivers for my gpu and used on board graphics for a few days, was a hefty process but was worth it in the end. Dell is getting better though, They are just trying too hard to be ahead of everyone else
