Yes, with ok FPS for sure, it will probably lag a bit at times I would recommend getting two and CF them if you want playable frame rates on ultra settings =)

7790 and 650Ti Boost will handle this pretty good on your resolution, Boost ultra for sure 60FPS, 7790 is a bit slower but should run at 40FPS.

Yeah it will really struggle with those GPU intensive games, I would recommend at least a HD7850 to get playable FPS at high settings or slied GTX 650 ti boost.

I am overclocking my gfx (HD 6950) via Ati Catalyst Control Center. After playing for 5 minutes or so, my computer freezes. Why would this happen? Is it overheating?

Could be or it could be an unstable overclock. If you're going to OC your GPU use MSI afterburner and don't OC it to the highest overclock if has to offer as it might not be stable. I've gone from 800 Mhz which is the stranded clock speed to 960Mhz which for MY card is fine but not for yours as the OC potential is different for every card due to the silicon lottery. :D

Yeah it's fine to use on any brand card. The program was just made by MSI so it's why it's called MSI afterburner so you don't have to worry about anything like that. :D

i am worried about ending up with a fried graphic card :D after some research, maybe i can convince myself :) but i have 1 GB Asus HD 6950. Is it crossfire ready? On AMD website, it says 2 GB version is crossfire certified. Does that mean i cannot crossfire with another Asus 1 GB?

Umm no all the cards Slob said are at least 30% more powerful than dual 6950. Also what would the point be in crossfiring two 6950 as you'd need a fair bit more power than you'd need to power one of those cards. You'd never have to worry about crossfire playing up which I've know it to do. And all of those cards can get more VRAM than 2gb so would be able to play at higher res with better quality.

the two 6950s will be better in performance and if you plan to use multiple monitors i believe you can put one monitor on each card to use the max potential of the vram. if you have the money to spare and your'e going to use multiple monitors i say 6950s. if you want to save money get the 7950.

this may be late, but go for the 7950, it is more power efficient and crossfire is unreliable you may get microstuttering. single GPU is always better, and 7950 can be oc'd nicely. what is your PSU? But personally I would go for the 7950, single GPU is the better choice
