How well can the GeForce GTX 1060 5GB run games
13 Dec 2019 - Graphics card reviewed

The GeForce GTX 1060 5GB is a high performing piece of gaming hardware, still confidently featuring in PC gamer computers. Capable of running games with up to a DirectX 12 requirement.

What FPS performance can the GeForce GTX 1060 5GB get on latest AAA 2019 games? In particular our game review looks at the FPS achieved running on Ultra graphics settings on the 1080p screen resolution as well as 1440p and 4K. We look at 1000 of the most demanding games available today and this GPU is better than the recommended graphics requirement of more than 681 games in the list.

With 1080p being the most common gaming resolution at the moment we explored how well the GeForce GTX 1060 5GB can run FIFA 20 at 1080p and saw it return strong frame rates at the following graphics settings - Low: 301 FPS, Medium: 251 FPS, High: 184 FPS and Ultra: 134 FPS. For performance contrast we can see that Cyberpunk 2077 is predicted to return a playable 33 FPS at Ultra 1080p.

With PC gamers looking for larger screen sizes like 1440p we tested the GeForce GTX 1060 5GB by playing FIFA 20 which yielded a strong performance. Its FPS results for the graphics settings are as follows - L: 229FPS, M: 191FPS, H: 140FPS, U: 102FPS. Another popular game we researched with this card was Cyberpunk 2077 and that was playable. This graphics card is predicted to deliver 25 FPS at Ultra 1440p. Another popular title was Microsoft Flight Simulator which is predicted to get playable results with a 25FPS on Ultra 1440p. Gaming at 1440p with the GeForce GTX 1060 5GB is a reliable performer at this larger resolution for modern games. The graphics card will be good to run 1440p on Ultra or High settings.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 1060 5GB graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 1060 5GB in your PC? Upgrade time for this GPU is currently placed at 2 years

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 1060 5GB? A great upgrade graphics card would be a 16 Series GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB, which has 32% better performance and can run 893 of the top 1000 demanding game requirements today. Alternatively if you want an upgrade suggestion for the GeForce GTX 1060 5GB then a good choice would be R-500 Series Radeon RX Vega 56 8GB as this is better than 957 of the top 1000 most demanding game requirements with 39% better performance as well.

I think it's made spec. for China. You can order it from there, but i would still go for 3gb or 6gb from better manufacturers.
