How well can the Radeon RX 560D 2GB run games
14 Nov 2019 - Graphics card reviewed

A mid level piece of gaming hardware, this Radeon RX 560D 2GB graphics card can still meet and run indie system requirements and some of the less demanding AAA games. All games with system requirements of DirectX 12 or lower are met by this card.

We take a look at game performance achieved on this graphics card when running 2019 popular games. This short Radeon RX 560D 2GB game hardware review looks at the graphics card frame rate performance on Ultra graphics settings at 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen resolutions. The Radeon RX 560D 2GB can run the recommended graphics system requirements for 163 games today, of the top 1000 most demanding.

Now onto the frame rates achieved at 1080p. We are seeing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare getting 15 FPS with the Radeon RX 560D 2GB, Star Wars: Jedi - Fallen Order getting 0 FPS and FIFA 20 getting 88 frames per second. All run on Ultra at 1920x1080 screen res.

People are turning their increasingly more powerful graphics cards to the popular 1440p screen size so we tested the Radeon RX 560D 2GB to see how it performs on 1440p. First off we have looked at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare where it was weak. The frame rates it scored for the game presets were - Low: 29 FPS, Medium: 23 FPS, High: 15 FPS and Ultra: 11 FPS. We added Star Wars: Jedi - Fallen Order to our tests and saw it was weak with a 0 FPS at Ultra 1440p. And then tested FIFA 20 which got 67 FPS at Ultra 1440p. Running games at 1440p with a Radeon RX 560D 2GB is a suitable graphics card for this larger screen res. In some cases we might expect some graphics option tweaks down from Ultra to High to help improve FPS stability when gaming at 1440p.

How many years will the Radeon RX 560D 2GB graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the Radeon RX 560D 2GB in your PC? Its time to start researching your next graphics card upgrade as the Radeon RX 560D 2GB is failing to meet modern day gaming system requirements. A gpu AAA lifespan of around 6-12 months.

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the Radeon RX 560D 2GB? Are you looking to upgrade a Radeon RX 560D 2GB? Then we would suggest getting a 16 Series GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6GB, as it can run 897 of the top 1000 demanding game requirements today with 125% increased graphics performance. Alternatively we would suggest getting a RX 5000 Series Radeon RX 5500 4GB, as it can run 685 of the top 1000 demanding game requirements today with 68% increased graphics performance.

Radeon RX 560D 2GB Game Requirement Analysis

Overview
Radeon RX 560D 2GB is a middle-class graphics card based on the third revision of the Graphics Core Next (GCN) Architecture.

Architecture
It equips a GPU codenamed Polaris 10 which is a 1st gen Polaris GPU, offering 896 Shader Processing Units, 48 TMUs and 16 ROPs.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 2GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 128-bit memory interface, while the Memory Clock operates at 1750MHz.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 75W, it requires at least a 350W PSU and relies entirely on the PCI slot for power, meaning no extra connectors are required.

Performance
This graphics card is rebrand of the Radeon RX 460 and was designed and marketed towards cryptocurrency miners and low to mid-end gaming. A light weight, small form factor GPU solution that offers mobility, so that gamers travelling to events can bring a smaller cheaper gaming rig. The Radeon RX 560D 2GB can play most modern games at medium graphics selection on a 1600p screen res and expect around 45+FPS. THe low TDP makes it a cost effective choice for cryptocurrency miners.

System Suggestions
Radeon RX 460 2GB is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1600x900. We recommend a mid range CPU and 8GB of system memory for optimal performance.
