How well can the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti run games
14 Nov 2019 - Graphics card reviewed

A true powerhouse, the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti will run even the most demanding game system requirements released today. GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is capable of DirectX 12 gaming requirements.

We take a look at game performance achieved on this graphics card when running 2019 popular games. This short GeForce GTX 1080 Ti game hardware review looks at the graphics card frame rate performance on Ultra graphics settings at 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen resolutions. In terms of performance against the most demanding games today this graphics card can play 994 of the 1000 most demanding PC games beating their recommended requirements.

A GeForce GTX 1080 Ti card at 1080p is seeing a strong frame rate when running Need For Speed Heat on Ultra - 83 FPS. Lets look at the performance its getting on Borderlands 3 which is 83 FPS. To add a bit more variety lets see how the popular Diablo 4 is predicted to perform on this hardware, which gets a good 64 FPS.

As the PC gaming masses explore larger screen resolutions we decided to run some game checks at 1440p across a few popular games. We discovered the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti ran Need For Speed Heat to a good performance level. Results across the graphics settings looked like this, Low: 167 FPS, Medium: 132 FPS, High: 89 FPS and Ultra: 63 FPS. Another game tested was Borderlands 3, L: 167FPS, M: 132FPS, H: 89FPS, U: 63FPS. And then we researched potential graphics card performance on Diablo 4, wih estimates revealing L: 129FPS, M: 102FPS, H: 68FPS, U: 49FPS at 1440p. Running games at 1440p with a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is more than capable at running this screen resolution. 1440p Ultra across almost all modern games is going to be fairly standard with this GPU. We would consider moving this hardware up to 4K screen resolutions for PC gaming today.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti in your PC? No graphics card upgrade required for 2 to 3 years of meeting top end game system requirements

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti? A good choice when looking to upgrade the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti would be the 20 Series GeForce RTX 2080 Ti which meets 997 of the 1000 top game’s recommended system requirements and has 20% better performance.

According to GD hardware comparison 1080Ti and 490X are equal. Yes, yes 1080Ti will win it but… If 490X really stays right under 1080Ti then I would get 490X because of Perfomance Per Dollar.
