R700 was AMD's Second Unified Shader Architecture.

It equips a GPU Codenamed RV710 which has 1 Compute Units activated and thus offers 80 Shader Processing Units, 8 TMUs and 4 ROPs. The Central Unit is clocked at 600MHz.


Memory
The GPU accesses a 512MB frame buffer of DDR2, through a 64-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is adequate. The Memory Clock Operates at 400MHz.


Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 20W, it requires at least a 300W PSU and relies entirely on the PCI Slot for Power, meaning no extra connectors are required.
