How well can the GeForce GTX 970 Point of View 4GB Edition run games
31 Oct 2019 - Graphics card reviewed

While some games have more powerful requirements than this GPU, the GeForce GTX 970 Point of View 4GB Edition is only really challenged by the most demanding games released today, but normally it is more than capable of running games with a stable frame rate at 1080p. This card meets game requirements up to DirectX 12.

Here we take a closer look at the various performances across 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen resolutions for the GeForce GTX 970 Point of View 4GB Edition. In particular this is looking at the Ultra graphics settings to see what sort of FPS this graphics card can get across some of the more popular games played in 2019. When considering how well this graphics card can run the 1000 most demanding games available today it can best 569 of the games’ recommended graphics requirements.

Running at 1080p this card is predicted to get a playable frame rate from Star Wars: Jedi - Fallen Order with 27 FPS on Ultra. Then we take a look at Need For Speed Heat which returns a playable 44 FPS. Another title that we looked at is the popular Microsoft Flight Simulator which we predict will get a playable 27 FPS.

We move on to 1440p, and predict that Star Wars: Jedi - Fallen Order will deliver weak FPS results. Here are the graphic presets - Low: 53 FPS, Medium: 42 FPS, High: 28 FPS and Ultra: 20 FPS. Next we have Need For Speed Heat running on GeForce GTX 970 Point of View 4GB Edition which gets L: 88FPS, M: 69FPS, H: 46FPS, U: 33FPS. And for performance contrast the popular Microsoft Flight Simulator is predicted to get L: 53FPS, M: 42FPS, H: 28FPS, U: 20FPS at 1440p. Gaming at 1440p with the GeForce GTX 970 Point of View 4GB Edition is not going to be able to keep stable frame rates at all times at Ultra 1440p on modern games.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 970 Point of View 4GB Edition graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 970 Point of View 4GB Edition in your PC? There is still 2 years of top end gaming left in this GeForce GTX 970 Point of View 4GB Edition
