How well can the GeForce GTX 950 Gigabyte OC 2GB Edition run games
31 Oct 2019 - Graphics card reviewed

A mid level piece of gaming hardware, this GeForce GTX 950 Gigabyte OC 2GB Edition graphics card can still meet and run indie system requirements and some of the less demanding AAA games. Capable of running games with up to a DirectX 12 requirement.

How well will the GeForce GTX 950 Gigabyte OC 2GB Edition run 2019 games? We will take a look at the biggest releases and frames per second analysis on Ultra graphics settings. In comparison to the game recommended requirements of the 1000 most demanding games played today this PC hardware can run 107.

Running at 1080p this card is predicted to get a weak frame rate from Microsoft Flight Simulator with 0 FPS on Ultra. Then we take a look at Cyberpunk 2077 which is predicted to return a weak 0 FPS. Another title that we looked at is the popular FIFA 20 which we saw getting a good 71 FPS.

Next up we increase screen res tests to accommodate the growing in popularity 1440p screen size. So we researched the upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator to predict how the GeForce GTX 950 Gigabyte OC 2GB Edition would deal with it. Our research revealed a weak series of FPS results across these graphics presets - Low: 0 FPS, Medium: 0 FPS, High: 0 FPS and Ultra: 0 FPS. Next we looked at Cyberpunk 2077 which we predict will be weak with a 0 FPS at Ultra 1440p. And finally looked at FIFA 20 that got an Ultra 1440p FPS of 54. 1440p gaming on the GeForce GTX 950 Gigabyte OC 2GB Edition is not the best resolution for this GPU, but if you adjust some graphics settings, perhaps lowering to medium or low at 1440p then this graphics card might be ok.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 950 Gigabyte OC 2GB Edition graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 950 Gigabyte OC 2GB Edition in your PC? Its time to start researching your next graphics card upgrade as the GeForce GTX 950 Gigabyte OC 2GB Edition is failing to meet modern day gaming system requirements. A gpu AAA lifespan of around 6-12 months.

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 950 Gigabyte OC 2GB Edition? A great upgrade graphics card would be a 16 Series GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6GB, which has 140% better performance and can run 901 of the top 1000 demanding game requirements today. Alternatively we would suggest getting a RX 5000 Series Radeon RX 5500 4GB, as it can run 694 of the top 1000 demanding game requirements today with 80% increased graphics performance.

Bottleneck will be minimal (if any) and only in games that are CPU hungry. I would not worry about that. 450W PSU is fine.

That would be great, that assures you ultra settings for at least 1-2 years more, considering you are ok with 30 fps .
