How well can the GeForce GTX 960 Zotac 4GB Edition run games
14 Nov 2019 - Graphics card reviewed

A mid level piece of gaming hardware, this GeForce GTX 960 Zotac 4GB Edition graphics card can still meet and run indie system requirements and some of the less demanding AAA games. Capable of running games with up to a DirectX 12 requirement.

Here is a performance review on how capable the GeForce GTX 960 Zotac 4GB Edition is at running the more popular games of 2019. Specifically looking at this PC hardware’s ability to get suitable frames per second to play on Ultra game settings and what FPS it might get on 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen res. In terms of performance against the most demanding games today this graphics card can play 232 of the 1000 most demanding PC games beating their recommended requirements.

With 1080p being the most common gaming resolution at the moment we explored how well the GeForce GTX 960 Zotac 4GB Edition can run FIFA 20 at 1080p and saw it return strong frame rates at the following graphics settings - Low: 187 FPS, Medium: 156 FPS, High: 114 FPS and Ultra: 83 FPS. For performance contrast we can see that Planet Zoo returns a weak 0 FPS at Ultra 1080p.

Moving screen sizes up to 1440p we ran FIFA 20 on the GeForce GTX 960 Zotac 4GB Edition to see that it got a good set of frame rates. Here are the low to ultra results at 1440p - L: 143FPS, M: 119FPS, H: 87FPS, U: 63FPS. Another popular game to test at 1440p with this card was Planet Zoo which seemed weak in performance netting an Ultra FPS of 0 FPS. Finally we then took a look at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare where its Ultra 1440p Frame rates were weak at 8 FPS. Gaming at 1440p with the GeForce GTX 960 Zotac 4GB Edition is going to need to lower its graphics settings to medium on modern games.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 960 Zotac 4GB Edition graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 960 Zotac 4GB Edition in your PC? 12-18 months of top end gaming is still left in this graphics card

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 960 Zotac 4GB Edition? A good upgrade choice for this graphics card today would be the 16 Series GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6GB. For comparison of the 1000 most demanding games around today this suggested upgrade is 109% better and can meet 897 of their recommended requirements. Alternatively if you are thinking of upgrading this graphics card then we would currently suggest the RX 5000 Series Radeon RX 5500 4GB. This PC hardware upgrade performs 57% better and can run 685 of today’s 1000 most demanding PC games.

This is a great GPU I own one and I get great fps.
Far Cry 3 maxed 45FPS but I would get more if my CPU and Ram was upgraded.
