GeForce GTX 750 Ti EVGA SuperClocked 2GB Edition Game Requirement Analysis

GeForce GTX 750 Ti EVGA SuperClocked 2GB Edition is a special edition of the fast-middle-class GeForce GTX 750 Ti.
This edition comes with a custom cooling cooling solution which by itself will allow a slight performance boost, as GeForce GTX 750 Ti benefits from the GPU Boost 2.0 technology.
Furthermore, it comes overclocked out of the box in the central unit that was raised from 1020MHz to 1176MHz, while the Turbo Boost is now of 1255MHz, instead of 1085MHz. The operating memory clock was left untouched. Further overclocking can be achieved easily, as the GPU has great OC potential.
Benchmarks indicate its performance is over around 7% better than the reference NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti and thus this card is as fast as Radeon HD 7850 and GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost Edition.

My mate is looking to upgrade his GPU to this one. How much bottleneck, if any should he expect? And is it damaging?

It should work just fine, however I would recommend him moving to at least new Pentium G3258.. yeah its DC but its for LGA1150 which would mean mobo has DDR3 memory and it will be upradeable. And I think even if its DC not QC, the new pentium would beat Q9550.

It won't be a big jump from 7750 so if you can go for at least a 960 or on AMD side R9 270X. The 750-Ti is definitely better for 1080p gaming than your current 7750 so if you can't afford at least 960, go for it because you won't be disappointed anyway.

What would be a good price efficient upgrade. It says the gtx 970, but I'm not willing to drop that much on a graphics card.

They propably just want more money :/
If it would be possible to get gtx 750 ti sli, then people would buy them because gtx 750 ti is a cheap and great card. So people would't buy single gtx 760 or gtx 960
