How well can the GeForce GTX 780 Gainward Phantom GLH Edition run games
10 Feb 2020 - Graphics card reviewed

While some games have more powerful requirements than this GPU, the GeForce GTX 780 Gainward Phantom GLH Edition is only really challenged by the most demanding games released today, but normally it is more than capable of running games with a stable frame rate at 1080p. All games with system requirements of DirectX 11 or lower are met by this card.

Lets look at the GeForce GTX 780 Gainward Phantom GLH Edition game performance guide for some of the biggest games played in 2020. In particular we will see how well this graphics card runs on Ultra settings on 1080p resolution as well as 1440p and 4K. Of the 1000 most demanding recommended specs found in game requirements today, this gpu is more powerful than the graphics requirement of 352 games in todays list.

A GeForce GTX 780 Gainward Phantom GLH Edition card at 1080p is seeing a strong frame rate when running Fortnite: Chapter 2 on Ultra - 97 FPS. Lets look at the predicted performance it will get on Microsoft Flight Simulator which is 23 FPS. To add a bit more variety lets see how the popular Star Wars: Jedi - Fallen Order performs on this hardware, which gets a weak 23 FPS.

Next up we increase screen res tests to accommodate the growing in popularity 1440p screen size. So we booted up Fortnite: Chapter 2 to see how the GeForce GTX 780 Gainward Phantom GLH Edition dealt with it. It scored up a good series of FPS results across these graphics presets - Low: 195 FPS, Medium: 154 FPS, High: 104 FPS and Ultra: 74 FPS. Next we looked at Microsoft Flight Simulator which we predict will be weak with a 17 FPS at Ultra 1440p. And finally looked at Star Wars: Jedi - Fallen Order that got an Ultra 1440p FPS of 17. 1440p GeForce GTX 780 Gainward Phantom GLH Edition PC gaming is a perfectly suitable selection of hardware for theis larger screen size. If a game at 1440p struggles a bit or experiences a frame drop then you can tweak settings in game to help get it stable. This might mean lowering it to medium or low in some specific options.
