How well can the GeForce GTX 760 MSI Hawk Edition run games
28 Nov 2019 - Graphics card reviewed

Getting one of these GeForce GTX 760 MSI Hawk Edition graphics cards allows the gamer to run indie system requirements and some less demanding AAA titles. In today’s PC hardware terms these are considered middle range for gaming performance. DirectX 11 gaming system requirements will be met by this gpu.

Here is a performance review on how capable the GeForce GTX 760 MSI Hawk Edition is at running the more popular games of 2019. Specifically looking at this PC hardware’s ability to get suitable frames per second to play on Ultra game settings and what FPS it might get on 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen res. 178 games can be played by this graphics card of the 1000 most demanding games being played by PC gamers today.

First we looked at 1080p resolution for the GeForce GTX 760 MSI Hawk Edition performance to explore what sort of benchmarks it would achieve on the popular title Star Wars: Jedi - Fallen Order and saw it deliver weak frames per second across the following graphics settings - Low: 0 FPS, Medium: 0 FPS, High: 0 FPS and Ultra: 0 FPS. We proceeded to look at Borderlands 3 to see how that compared and saw that it returned a weak 13 FPS at Ultra 1080p.

One of the growing popular screen resolutions for PC gaming is the wider 1440p. So we wanted to see how well the GeForce GTX 760 MSI Hawk Edition performed at 1440p by taking a look at some of the current popular games. First we looked at Star Wars: Jedi - Fallen Order and saw it deliver weak frames per second across the following graphics settings - Low: 0 FPS, Medium: 0 FPS, High: 0 FPS and Ultra: 0 FPS. We then checked the performance on Borderlands 3 to see if that runs well. It was weak with a 10 FPS at Ultra 1440p. Running games at 1440p with a GeForce GTX 760 MSI Hawk Edition is likely in need of some graphical option tweaks when trying to play modern games.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 760 MSI Hawk Edition graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 760 MSI Hawk Edition in your PC? We think this GeForce GTX 760 MSI Hawk Edition has around 6-12 months until an upgrade should be considered.

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 760 MSI Hawk Edition? A great upgrade graphics card would be a 16 Series GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB, which has 121% better performance and can run 899 of the top 1000 demanding game requirements today. Alternatively a good upgrade choice for this graphics card today would be the RX 5000 Series Radeon RX 5500 4GB. For comparison of the 1000 most demanding games around today this suggested upgrade is 63% better and can meet 672 of their recommended requirements.
