How well can the GeForce GTX 770 EVGA SC W/ ACX Edition run games
28 Nov 2019 - Graphics card reviewed

This graphics card offers upper mid level gaming performance. The GeForce GTX 770 EVGA SC W/ ACX Edition GPU could struggle if it was to try and run the most demanding games available today, but it meets a lot of game system requirements found in today’s games. DirectX 12 gaming system requirements will be met by this gpu.

Here is a performance review on how capable the GeForce GTX 770 EVGA SC W/ ACX Edition is at running the more popular games of 2019. Specifically looking at this PC hardware’s ability to get suitable frames per second to play on Ultra game settings and what FPS it might get on 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen res. We look at 1000 of the most demanding games available today and this GPU is better than the recommended graphics requirement of more than 322 games in the list.

First we looked at 1080p resolution for the GeForce GTX 770 EVGA SC W/ ACX Edition performance to explore what sort of benchmarks it would achieve on the popular title FIFA 20 and saw it deliver strong frames per second across the following graphics settings - Low: 216 FPS, Medium: 180 FPS, High: 132 FPS and Ultra: 96 FPS. We proceeded to look at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to see how that compared and saw that it returned a weak 22 FPS at Ultra 1080p.

Next up we increase screen res tests to accommodate the growing in popularity 1440p screen size. So we booted up FIFA 20 to see how the GeForce GTX 770 EVGA SC W/ ACX Edition dealt with it. It scored up a good series of FPS results across these graphics presets - Low: 165 FPS, Medium: 137 FPS, High: 101 FPS and Ultra: 73 FPS. Next we looked at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare which was weak with a 17 FPS at Ultra 1440p. And finally looked at Cyberpunk 2077 that we predict will get an Ultra 1440p FPS of 4. In summary we feel the GeForce GTX 770 EVGA SC W/ ACX Edition running at 1440p is ok at playing most games but might need to have the graphics settings lowered to medium preset in some cases.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 770 EVGA SC W/ ACX Edition graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 770 EVGA SC W/ ACX Edition in your PC? 12-18 months of top end gaming is still left in this graphics card

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 770 EVGA SC W/ ACX Edition? A good choice when looking to upgrade the GeForce GTX 770 EVGA SC W/ ACX Edition would be the 16 Series GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB which meets 899 of the 1000 top game’s recommended system requirements and has 85% better performance. Alternatively a good upgrade choice for this graphics card today would be the RX 5000 Series Radeon RX 5500 4GB. For comparison of the 1000 most demanding games around today this suggested upgrade is 36% better and can meet 672 of their recommended requirements.

GeForce GTX 770 EVGA SC W/ ACX Edition Game Requirement Analysis

GeForce GTX 770 EVGA SC W/ ACX Edition is a special edition of the high-end GeForce GTX 770.
This edition comes with a custom dual fan cooling solution which by itself should allow a slight performance boost, as GeForce GTX 770 benefits from the GPU Boost 2.0 technology.
Also, it has been overclocked out of the box from 1046MHz to 1111MHz while its boost clock is now of 1163MHz. The memory clock was left untouched.
Benchmarks indicate a 5% performance boost when compared to the reference card and so this edition performs very slightly better than GeForce GTX 590.

I think you would be better off with the 770. But you could get the GTX 970 for about the same price. It uses less power, performs better and has double the RAM.

I might this card (or something similar) my next upgrade. I currently have a 630W PSU with 50A on the 12V rail. Should I upgrade the PSU as well? I'm not doing anything fancy like SLI or custom cooling aside from a few 120mm case fans

So I was thinking of replacing my 680 FTW with 2 of these. The only thing is I'm not sure about is if my 850W PSU is enough to run 2 of these and my 3770k?

It can work, but you are wasting 2GB of ram becasue it will use that 2 and 2GB
Best is to buy same card you have for sli or crossfire

Yes it would be, you wouldn't have to upgrade for at the bare minimum 2-3 years. You also will be able to play all current games on Ultra to High. It is also great especially since they have the holiday bundle and price drop.
