How well can the GeForce GTX 770 MSI TwinFrozr Edition run games
14 Nov 2019 - Graphics card reviewed

This graphics card offers upper mid level gaming performance. The GeForce GTX 770 MSI TwinFrozr Edition GPU could struggle if it was to try and run the most demanding games available today, but it meets a lot of game system requirements found in today’s games. DirectX 12 gaming system requirements will be met by this gpu.

Here we take a closer look at the various performances across 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen resolutions for the GeForce GTX 770 MSI TwinFrozr Edition. In particular this is looking at the Ultra graphics settings to see what sort of FPS this graphics card can get across some of the more popular games played in 2019. Of the 1000 most demanding recommended specs found in game requirements today, this gpu is more powerful than the graphics requirement of 341 games in todays list.

A GeForce GTX 770 MSI TwinFrozr Edition card at 1080p is predicted to see a weak frame rate when running Diablo 4 on Ultra - 6 FPS. Lets look at the predicted performance it will get on Cyberpunk 2077 which is 6 FPS. To add a bit more variety lets see how the popular Need For Speed Heat performs on this hardware, which gets a playable 28 FPS.

One of the growing popular screen resolutions for PC gaming is the wider 1440p. So we wanted to see how well the GeForce GTX 770 MSI TwinFrozr Edition performed at 1440p by taking a look at some of the current popular games. First we looked at Diablo 4 and predict it will deliver weak frames per second across the following graphics settings - Low: 11 FPS, Medium: 9 FPS, High: 6 FPS and Ultra: 4 FPS. We then checked the performance on Cyberpunk 2077 to predict if that will run well. It is predicted to be weak with a 4 FPS at Ultra 1440p. Looking at a few of these 1440p results for the GeForce GTX 770 MSI TwinFrozr Edition we get the impression that it is the wrong choice for PC gaming.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 770 MSI TwinFrozr Edition graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 770 MSI TwinFrozr Edition in your PC? This GeForce GTX 770 MSI TwinFrozr Edition card has 12 to 18 months of latest AAA game play left in it before upgrading should be considered

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 770 MSI TwinFrozr Edition? Are you looking to upgrade a GeForce GTX 770 MSI TwinFrozr Edition? Then we would suggest getting a 16 Series GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB, as it can run 901 of the top 1000 demanding game requirements today with 85% increased graphics performance. Alternatively a good choice when looking to upgrade the GeForce GTX 770 MSI TwinFrozr Edition would be the RX 5000 Series Radeon RX 5500 4GB which meets 685 of the 1000 top game’s recommended system requirements and has 36% better performance.

GeForce GTX 770 MSI TwinFrozr Edition Game Requirement Analysis

GeForce GTX 770 MSI TwinFrozr Edition is a special edition of the high-end GeForce GTX 770.
This edition comes with a custom dual fan cooling solution which by itself should allow a slight performance boost, as GeForce GTX 770 benefits from the GPU Boost 2.0 technology.
Also, it has been overclocked out of the box from 1046MHz to 1137MHz while its boost clock is now of 1189MHz. The memory clock was left untouched.
Benchmarks indicate a 6% performance boost when compared to the reference card and so this edition performs slightly better than GeForce GTX 590.

Any reason why this is 1% more powerful than the 4Gb edition? They are the same in literally every aspect except from the frame buffer, is less VRAM better or something?

Hi guys, I think there are some slight mistakes on this GFX details page. According to the official MSI page for this product, the core clock speed should be 1098 MHz and the boost clock is 1150 MHz. It also says that the max display output is 2560x1600. I've included the link below:

I thought any amount of RAM over 8GB is wasted on a pure gaming system. And when I say pure I mean if it isn't required by the OS, or a game, it isn't installed.

Depends on the game, 80GB is recommended for ultra now, even 12 for Star Citizen, best to have a bit extra.
