How well can the GeForce GTX 770 MSI Lightning Edition run games
14 Nov 2019 - Graphics card reviewed

This graphics card offers upper mid level gaming performance. The GeForce GTX 770 MSI Lightning Edition GPU could struggle if it was to try and run the most demanding games available today, but it meets a lot of game system requirements found in today’s games. DirectX 12 gaming system requirements will be met by this gpu.

How well will the GeForce GTX 770 MSI Lightning Edition run 2019 games? We will take a look at the biggest releases and frames per second analysis on Ultra graphics settings. The GeForce GTX 770 MSI Lightning Edition can run the recommended graphics system requirements for 349 games today, of the top 1000 most demanding.

First we looked at 1080p resolution for the GeForce GTX 770 MSI Lightning Edition performance to explore what sort of benchmarks it would achieve on the popular title Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and saw it deliver playable frames per second across the following graphics settings - Low: 65 FPS, Medium: 51 FPS, High: 34 FPS and Ultra: 25 FPS. We proceeded to look at Red Dead Redemption 2 to see how that compared and saw that it returned a playable 30 FPS at Ultra 1080p.

People are turning their increasingly more powerful graphics cards to the popular 1440p screen size so we tested the GeForce GTX 770 MSI Lightning Edition to see how it performs on 1440p. First off we have looked at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare where it was weak. The frame rates it scored for the game presets were - Low: 49 FPS, Medium: 39 FPS, High: 26 FPS and Ultra: 19 FPS. We added Red Dead Redemption 2 to our tests and saw it was weak with a 23 FPS at Ultra 1440p. And then tested Star Wars: Jedi - Fallen Order which got 6 FPS at Ultra 1440p. 1440p gaming on the GeForce GTX 770 MSI Lightning Edition is not going to be able to keep stable frame rates at all times at Ultra 1440p on modern games.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 770 MSI Lightning Edition graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 770 MSI Lightning Edition in your PC? This GeForce GTX 770 MSI Lightning Edition card has 12 to 18 months of latest AAA game play left in it before upgrading should be considered

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 770 MSI Lightning Edition? Are you looking to upgrade a GeForce GTX 770 MSI Lightning Edition? Then we would suggest getting a 16 Series GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB, as it can run 901 of the top 1000 demanding game requirements today with 80% increased graphics performance. An alternative great upgrade graphics card would be a RX 5000 Series Radeon RX 5500 4GB, which has 32% better performance and can run 685 of the top 1000 demanding game requirements today.

GeForce GTX 770 MSI Lightning Edition Game Requirement Analysis

GeForce GTX 770 MSI Lightning Edition is a special edition of the high-end GeForce GTX 770.
This edition comes with a custom dual fan cooling solution which by itself should allow a slight performance boost, as GeForce GTX 770 benefits from the GPU Boost 2.0 technology.
Also, it has been overclocked out of the box from 1046MHz to 1150MHz while its boost clock is now of 1202MHz. The memory clock was left untouched.
Benchmarks indicate a 7.5% performance boost when compared to the reference card and so this edition performs very slightly better than GeForce GTX 590.

Hey thanks for answering, so waiting would be the best way to go. I am planning to build a new rig probably early next year, I just wanted to get the VC earlier so that it won't be heavy (budget-wise) when I get the other components.
