How well can the Radeon HD 7950 Sapphire 3GB Boost Edition run games
31 Oct 2019 - Graphics card reviewed

Getting one of these Radeon HD 7950 Sapphire 3GB Boost Edition graphics cards allows the gamer to run indie system requirements and some less demanding AAA titles. In today’s PC hardware terms these are considered middle range for gaming performance. Radeon HD 7950 Sapphire 3GB Boost Edition is capable of DirectX 11 gaming requirements.

This PC hardware performance game review for the Radeon HD 7950 Sapphire 3GB Boost Edition graphics card, when running 2019 more popular games, lets us see what type of FPS this card gets when playing at 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen resolutions and ultra settings. This graphics hardware can run 155 of the 1000 most demanding PC games played today.

A Radeon HD 7950 Sapphire 3GB Boost Edition card at 1080p is seeing a playable frame rate when running The Outer Worlds on Ultra - 27 FPS. Lets look at the predicted performance it will get on Star Wars: Jedi - Fallen Order which is 0 FPS. To add a bit more variety lets see how the popular Cyberpunk 2077 is predicted to perform on this hardware, which gets a weak 0 FPS.

Next up we increase screen res tests to accommodate the growing in popularity 1440p screen size. So we booted up The Outer Worlds to see how the Radeon HD 7950 Sapphire 3GB Boost Edition dealt with it. It scored up a weak series of FPS results across these graphics presets - Low: 54 FPS, Medium: 43 FPS, High: 29 FPS and Ultra: 21 FPS. Next we looked at Star Wars: Jedi - Fallen Order which we predict will be weak with a 0 FPS at Ultra 1440p. And finally looked at Cyberpunk 2077 that we predict will get an Ultra 1440p FPS of 0. 1440p gaming on the Radeon HD 7950 Sapphire 3GB Boost Edition is going to underperform if you try and run modern games.

How many years will the Radeon HD 7950 Sapphire 3GB Boost Edition graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the Radeon HD 7950 Sapphire 3GB Boost Edition in your PC? There is around 6-12 months of top end gaming left in this card, at which point its graphics card replacement time, assuming the Radeon HD 7950 Sapphire 3GB Boost Edition is part of your PC gaming machine.

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the Radeon HD 7950 Sapphire 3GB Boost Edition? A good upgrade choice for this graphics card today would be the 16 Series GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6GB. For comparison of the 1000 most demanding games around today this suggested upgrade is 132% better and can meet 901 of their recommended requirements. An alternative great upgrade graphics card would be a RX 5000 Series Radeon RX 5500 4GB, which has 73% better performance and can run 694 of the top 1000 demanding game requirements today.

this is a relatively old Graphics Card. Its driver support will soon decrease when AMD releases the new architecture. I don't think it's worth buying this unless it's at a really good price like say around $150.
Otherwise, if you prefer AMD please wait for the R-400 Series.

Yes, due to the older architecture. Invest in an i5 or equivalent AMD that can be OC'd, like a Athlon 760K, 860K, or FX-6300. Because you're using DDR2 RAM that's also a considerable bottleneck. Right now you GPU can't ' stretch itself ' as it were.

you need at least 700-750w, 800w (if you wanna OC).. and please don't CF them.. i've CF 2 of these and it's so bad… 1 will work superb , 2 will kill your happiness :))

also.. 2 will bottleneck you cpu..

Depends on from which company or store you buy it. Also it is not really worth upgrading for you as your rig maxes out most games.

no it's not worth it, your rig is already pretty good, the only worthwhile upgrade is to the GTX 780, or a high-end 8xxx series, I'd say wait for maxwell, or something.
