How well can the GeForce GTX Titan run games
28 Nov 2019 - Graphics card reviewed

While some games have more powerful requirements than this GPU, the GeForce GTX Titan is only really challenged by the most demanding games released today, but normally it is more than capable of running games with a stable frame rate at 1080p. GeForce GTX Titan is capable of DirectX 11 gaming requirements.

This PC hardware performance game review for the GeForce GTX Titan graphics card, when running 2019 more popular games, lets us see what type of FPS this card gets when playing at 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen resolutions and ultra settings. The GeForce GTX Titan can run the recommended graphics system requirements for 415 games today, of the top 1000 most demanding.

Now onto the frame rates achieved at 1080p. We are seeing FIFA 20 getting 116 FPS with the GeForce GTX Titan, Borderlands 3 getting 40 FPS and Cyberpunk 2077 predicted to get 22 frames per second. All run on Ultra at 1920x1080 screen res.

We move on to 1440p, and tested FIFA 20 which delivered strong FPS results. Here are the graphic presets - Low: 199 FPS, Medium: 166 FPS, High: 122 FPS and Ultra: 88 FPS. Next we have Borderlands 3 running on GeForce GTX Titan which gets L: 81FPS, M: 63FPS, H: 43FPS, U: 31FPS. And for performance contrast the popular Cyberpunk 2077 is predicted to get L: 44FPS, M: 35FPS, H: 23FPS, U: 17FPS at 1440p. After a look at the popular games running at 1440p with the GeForce GTX Titan, this is capable of delivering a solid gaming experience across larger screen sized monitors. We expect to see High and Ultra graphics settings across most games at 1440p with this GPU.

How many years will the GeForce GTX Titan graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX Titan in your PC? This GeForce GTX Titan card has 12 to 18 months of latest AAA game play left in it before upgrading should be considered

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX Titan? A suitable upgrade choice for the GeForce GTX Titan is the 16 Series GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB, which is 53% more powerful and can run 897 of the 1000 most demanding PC games beating their recommended requirements. An alternative great upgrade graphics card would be a R-500 Series Radeon RX 580 8GB, which has 22% better performance and can run 841 of the top 1000 demanding game requirements today.

GeForce GTX Titan Game Requirement Analysis

GeForce GTX Titan (can also be addressed as GeForce GTX 685) is a high end GFX based on the 28nm Kepler architecture.
It's based on the Kepler GK110 Core used on the Tesla K20 Workstation, but with only 14 SMX activated and so it features 2688 Shader Processing Units, 48 ROPs and 224 TMUs on a 384-bit interface of fast GDDR5. The central clock runs at 837MHz and goes up to 876MHz in Turbo Mode, while the memory clock operates at 1502MHz. GeForce GTX Titan will draw no more than 250 Watts.
GeForce GTX Titan's biggest feature is the Kepler GPU Boost 2.0 which raises the GPU's central unit and Shaders speeds to a frequency even higher to the one the Turbo Boost allows, if the GPU's temperature and Voltage allows it.
Benchmarks indicate its performance is up to 30% better than GeForce GTX 680 and up to 10% worse than GeForce GTX 690. Therefore, even the most demanding games will run at the highest settings, using a 2560x1600 resolution.

How well does this card overclock?
Also, isn't the 6 GB of memory a bit too much? I mean, nVidia reference cards had 2 GB on 680, and about 1,5 of it was used in worst scenario…

TITAN is meant to be used on higher resolutions, where more vram will be needed, also people have OC'd this to make world records, and you can get better titan's with awesome cooling, one being the iChill edition, but reference cooling is awesome as well.

all of this looks good but the question is: can it run minesweeper on low or do I have to go with the 4-way SLI and Xeon E5-4650 to get at least 1 FPS? Should I upgrade my ram to 248GB 9GHz DDR12? Should I get the 9.2 million watt PSU?

first of all, that PSu would be terribly overpriced and the energy bull alone would make me faint, also Xeon processors are server ones, they aren't designed for gaming, what you mean is either the 4970x or the 3970x (I am not sure whether the 4970x is released) anyways no minesweeper is just too damn demanding, I ran it on low 640x468 at 2FPS.

That PSU doesn't exist, nor does the RAM. I know what Xeon processors are used for, it was part of the joke. Are you lying about that FPS? I run it at 1x1 and got 1/2 FPS, and yours isn't good enough to scale the game up that much with better FPS. Maybe if I'm lucky and it's a good day, I can get 1/4 FPS at 3x3 but that is a very rare occasion.

Verify your rig by clicking on that orange circle near your username, this just tells people that your rig is real, people may give you tumbs down becuase they think your PC is fake, especially if it's a high end rig like a GTX TITAN, also it shows of your PC, so people can compare results.

dude, look at my graphics card, its 1% better than the titan. www.pccasegear.com
These guys are in Australia, and I am also Australia. My card cost me $849 and it pumps out more performance (about 2fps lol) than the titan.
If you wanna save some money and have a beast of a gpu, then this is your chance haha :P
