How well can the GeForce GTX Titan run games
28 Nov 2019 - Graphics card reviewed

While some games have more powerful requirements than this GPU, the GeForce GTX Titan is only really challenged by the most demanding games released today, but normally it is more than capable of running games with a stable frame rate at 1080p. GeForce GTX Titan is capable of DirectX 11 gaming requirements.

This PC hardware performance game review for the GeForce GTX Titan graphics card, when running 2019 more popular games, lets us see what type of FPS this card gets when playing at 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen resolutions and ultra settings. The GeForce GTX Titan can run the recommended graphics system requirements for 414 games today, of the top 1000 most demanding.

Now onto the frame rates achieved at 1080p. We are seeing FIFA 20 getting 116 FPS with the GeForce GTX Titan, Borderlands 3 getting 40 FPS and Cyberpunk 2077 predicted to get 22 frames per second. All run on Ultra at 1920x1080 screen res.

We move on to 1440p, and tested FIFA 20 which delivered strong FPS results. Here are the graphic presets - Low: 199 FPS, Medium: 166 FPS, High: 122 FPS and Ultra: 88 FPS. Next we have Borderlands 3 running on GeForce GTX Titan which gets L: 81FPS, M: 63FPS, H: 43FPS, U: 31FPS. And for performance contrast the popular Cyberpunk 2077 is predicted to get L: 44FPS, M: 35FPS, H: 23FPS, U: 17FPS at 1440p. After a look at the popular games running at 1440p with the GeForce GTX Titan, this is capable of delivering a solid gaming experience across larger screen sized monitors. We expect to see High and Ultra graphics settings across most games at 1440p with this GPU.

How many years will the GeForce GTX Titan graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX Titan in your PC? This GeForce GTX Titan card has 12 to 18 months of latest AAA game play left in it before upgrading should be considered

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX Titan? A suitable upgrade choice for the GeForce GTX Titan is the 16 Series GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB, which is 53% more powerful and can run 896 of the 1000 most demanding PC games beating their recommended requirements. An alternative great upgrade graphics card would be a R-500 Series Radeon RX 580 8GB, which has 22% better performance and can run 840 of the top 1000 demanding game requirements today.

GeForce GTX Titan Game Requirement Analysis

GeForce GTX Titan (can also be addressed as GeForce GTX 685) is a high end GFX based on the 28nm Kepler architecture.
It's based on the Kepler GK110 Core used on the Tesla K20 Workstation, but with only 14 SMX activated and so it features 2688 Shader Processing Units, 48 ROPs and 224 TMUs on a 384-bit interface of fast GDDR5. The central clock runs at 837MHz and goes up to 876MHz in Turbo Mode, while the memory clock operates at 1502MHz. GeForce GTX Titan will draw no more than 250 Watts.
GeForce GTX Titan's biggest feature is the Kepler GPU Boost 2.0 which raises the GPU's central unit and Shaders speeds to a frequency even higher to the one the Turbo Boost allows, if the GPU's temperature and Voltage allows it.
Benchmarks indicate its performance is up to 30% better than GeForce GTX 680 and up to 10% worse than GeForce GTX 690. Therefore, even the most demanding games will run at the highest settings, using a 2560x1600 resolution.

It's a waste of money for gaming, but it has 6 GB VRAM, probably some workstation use in that. Meh, this is a really late reply. :/

Who new this? The Titan super computer was built to try and run minesweeper, but because minesweeper is extremely demanding it failed to run, so Nvidia put the Titan up for public sale because all the attempts failed to reach there ultimate goal…
