How well can the Radeon HD 7970 Club3D royalAce Edition run games
14 Nov 2019 - Graphics card reviewed

This graphics card offers upper mid level gaming performance. The Radeon HD 7970 Club3D royalAce Edition GPU could struggle if it was to try and run the most demanding games available today, but it meets a lot of game system requirements found in today’s games. This card meets game requirements up to DirectX 11.

Lets look at the Radeon HD 7970 Club3D royalAce Edition game performance guide for some of the biggest games played in 2019. In particular we will see how well this graphics card runs on Ultra settings on 1080p resolution as well as 1440p and 4K. The Radeon HD 7970 Club3D royalAce Edition can run the recommended graphics system requirements for 341 games today, of the top 1000 most demanding.

First we looked at 1080p resolution for the Radeon HD 7970 Club3D royalAce Edition performance to explore what sort of benchmarks it would achieve on the popular title Star Wars: Jedi - Fallen Order and saw it deliver weak frames per second across the following graphics settings - Low: 7 FPS, Medium: 5 FPS, High: 4 FPS and Ultra: 3 FPS. We proceeded to look at Planet Zoo to see how that compared and saw that it returned a playable 26 FPS at Ultra 1080p.

Moving screen sizes up to 1440p we ran Star Wars: Jedi - Fallen Order on the Radeon HD 7970 Club3D royalAce Edition to see that it got a weak set of frame rates. Here are the low to ultra results at 1440p - L: 5FPS, M: 4FPS, H: 3FPS, U: 2FPS. Another popular game to test at 1440p with this card was Planet Zoo which seemed weak in performance netting an Ultra FPS of 19 FPS. Finally we then took a look at Cyberpunk 2077 where its predicted Ultra 1440p Frame rates were weak at 0 FPS. Getting popular modern games to run at 1440p on the Radeon HD 7970 Club3D royalAce Edition is the wrong choice for PC gaming.

How many years will the Radeon HD 7970 Club3D royalAce Edition graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the Radeon HD 7970 Club3D royalAce Edition in your PC? Based on the Comparsion hardware,
Radeon HD 7970 DirectCU II TOP Edition is 6% slower then this Club3D card. and in my country(holland) its about 20/25 euro's cheaper.
Should i buy this card ? or buying a cheaper one like XFX, the OC it and use the Never Settle driver ?.
