How well can the GeForce GTX 680 WinFast 4GB Edition run games
14 Nov 2019 - Graphics card reviewed

This graphics card offers upper mid level gaming performance. The GeForce GTX 680 WinFast 4GB Edition GPU could struggle if it was to try and run the most demanding games available today, but it meets a lot of game system requirements found in today’s games. This card meets game requirements up to DirectX 11.

How well will the GeForce GTX 680 WinFast 4GB Edition run 2019 games? We will take a look at the biggest releases and frames per second analysis on Ultra graphics settings. In comparison to the game recommended requirements of the 1000 most demanding games played today this PC hardware can run 292.

First we looked at 1080p resolution for the GeForce GTX 680 WinFast 4GB Edition performance to explore what sort of benchmarks it would achieve on the popular title Star Wars: Jedi - Fallen Order and saw it deliver weak frames per second across the following graphics settings - Low: 0 FPS, Medium: 0 FPS, High: 0 FPS and Ultra: 0 FPS. We proceeded to look at Red Dead Redemption 2 to see how that compared and saw that it returned a weak 21 FPS at Ultra 1080p.

Increasing resolution to 1440p is something a number of PC gamers are doing today. We tested the GeForce GTX 680 WinFast 4GB Edition at 1440p with Star Wars: Jedi - Fallen Order, which got a weak set of FPS results. These were, Low: 0 FPS, Medium: 0 FPS, High: 0 FPS and Ultra: 0 FPS. We then checked out Red Dead Redemption 2 which had a set of graphics results as followed, L: 41FPS, M: 33FPS, H: 22FPS, U: 16FPS. And another popular game was Diablo 4 with predictions of L: 0FPS, M: 0FPS, H: 0FPS, U: 0FPS at 1440p. Getting popular modern games to run at 1440p on the GeForce GTX 680 WinFast 4GB Edition is going to underperform if you try and run modern games.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 680 WinFast 4GB Edition graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 680 WinFast 4GB Edition in your PC? Our current calculations suggest a graphics card upgrade will be required in around 12-18 months

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 680 WinFast 4GB Edition? A suitable upgrade choice for the GeForce GTX 680 WinFast 4GB Edition is the 16 Series GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB, which is 102% more powerful and can run 901 of the 1000 most demanding PC games beating their recommended requirements.
