How well can the GeForce GTX 690 Hydro Copper Signature Edition run games
13 Dec 2019 - Graphics card reviewed

Gamers upgrading will be considering the GeForce GTX 690 Hydro Copper Signature Edition graphics card as a serious price to performance entry point. This card will meet and play most demanding AAA games and do so with good graphics setting as standard, and confidently pushing past the recommended game system requirements needed to run today’s games. This card meets game requirements up to DirectX 11.

Here we take a closer look at the various performances across 1080p, 1440p and 4K screen resolutions for the GeForce GTX 690 Hydro Copper Signature Edition. In particular this is looking at the Ultra graphics settings to see what sort of FPS this graphics card can get across some of the more popular games played in 2019. We look at 1000 of the most demanding games available today and this GPU is better than the recommended graphics requirement of more than 841 games in the list.

First we looked at 1080p resolution for the GeForce GTX 690 Hydro Copper Signature Edition performance to explore what sort of benchmarks it would achieve on the popular title Borderlands 3 and saw it deliver reasonable frames per second across the following graphics settings - Low: 136 FPS, Medium: 107 FPS, High: 72 FPS and Ultra: 52 FPS. We proceeded to look at Star Wars: Jedi - Fallen Order to see how that compared and saw that it returned a playable 37 FPS at Ultra 1080p.

People are turning their increasingly more powerful graphics cards to the popular 1440p screen size so we tested the GeForce GTX 690 Hydro Copper Signature Edition to see how it performs on 1440p. First off we have looked at Borderlands 3 where it was playable. The frame rates it scored for the game presets were - Low: 104 FPS, Medium: 82 FPS, High: 55 FPS and Ultra: 39 FPS. We added Star Wars: Jedi - Fallen Order to our tests and saw it was playable with a 28 FPS at Ultra 1440p. And then tested FIFA 20 which got 109 FPS at Ultra 1440p. Running games at 1440p with a GeForce GTX 690 Hydro Copper Signature Edition is a strong choice at these screen resolutions. With Ultra graphics settings being regularly reached at 1440p gaming its easy to consider bumping up the screen size to 4K for this graphics card.

How many years will the GeForce GTX 690 Hydro Copper Signature Edition graphics card play newly released games and how long until you should consider upgrading the GeForce GTX 690 Hydro Copper Signature Edition in your PC? No graphics card upgrade required for 2 to 3 years of meeting top end game system requirements

Whats a good PC graphics upgrade for the GeForce GTX 690 Hydro Copper Signature Edition? A suitable upgrade choice for the GeForce GTX 690 Hydro Copper Signature Edition is the 16 Series GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB, which is 23% more powerful and can run 892 of the 1000 most demanding PC games beating their recommended requirements. Alternatively a suitable upgrade choice for the GeForce GTX 690 Hydro Copper Signature Edition is the R-500 Series Radeon RX Vega 56 8GB, which is 29% more powerful and can run 957 of the 1000 most demanding PC games beating their recommended requirements.

GeForce GTX 690 Hydro Copper Signature Edition Game Requirement Analysis

GeForce GTX 690 Hydro Copper Signature Edition is a special edition of high-end and dual Graphics Geforce GTX 690, modified by EVGA.
The new features include a custom water block and a custom PCB and an overclocking out of the box in the core-clock from 915MHz to 993MHz - which is impressive considering it is a dual graphics solution.
Unfortunately, there are no benchmarks available yet but we believe there's at least a 9% performance boost compared to the reference GPU and that even the most demanding games will run with fluent frame rates even at extreme resolutions.

Haha nope, never edited it and i know a 690 is pretty much 2 680's but my point was i thought there'd be a bigger improvment as the original 680 has been out nearly a year ago :)

There are marginal differences between the usual 680 and these editions. This edition is a good one among all the others. It has the highest memory bandwidth and results in 9-11% performance increase.
